I wonder if they realise that comments like that only make more people aware this site actually exists or those that know it does to actually join and comment? Dude all you're doing is feeding the "trolls".
And Alaina Huffman? I cannot express how much I don't blame SGU cast and crew for Atlantis's cancellation in any way. But unfortunately you guys are reaping what the producers have sowed and its not your fault. But don't join the party, sit back and keep your mouth shut because at this point, with the show basically cancelled anyway, it can't do you any favors.

Hahah "Feel free to sound off in the comments". It's proof where ever you go on the net people hate this show.
Seeing that DVD box reminds me - I was in the Walmart video section looking around (no, first time in 6 months) and lo and behold there was a rack of SGU S1 boxes 3 inches above the floor. Seeing their mangey faces I was thinking of giving it a damn good hoof. To bad for those security cameras, eh?

My thoughts exactly. " ... at least it’s provoked some debate." What's to debate? The show sucks, the 2 year contracts are finished and the show's a goner.

I find it a little odd that he's not even trying to defend his point of view after the torrent of anti-SGU mail. Maybe he just said that to court controversy, hoping for increased traffic. TBH, I expected more pro-SGU comments on his page.

Well, if "deliberately hurt us" means NOT watching the show because it SUCKS, then yes, it's true.
Also, didn't he say waaay back when that they need MORE than SG-1 & SGA fans, but on the other hand, don't really need us, because the show is moving in new, hip, cerebral direction (paraphrasing)? Isn't he getting what he asked for??? what's the problem, then??? "If we'll make a good show, you'll watch it. If we don't, you won't."

Hey guys, new here just wanted to say how great this site is! I could of used this vent Dojo months back =)
Anyhow I saw the link to the artical and felt it was a great time to post, I think there was around 90 post at the time I saw it, I really hope it blows up! Mine was in Mod mode so just incase it doesn't go through ..
I have been a viewer (hate words like fan) of Stargate since the beginning,the only show that I would turn the TV on for and this really is derived from the great concept of the original movie writers, while the series writers did a great job, they were basically given a golden egg.
Yes I enjoyed SG-1 and Atlantis very much, yes I was very disappointed with the decision to cancel Atlantis as I saw a great deal of untapped possibilities with that show, almost limitless! However to think that skewed viewers opinions on SGU is insane! I was actually looking forward to this new show with great anticipation I mean it had a great concept really, the problem however was the execution, the writing , the new direction they tried to take this show.
This was a horrible move from an arrogent writer/s who basically took for granted "the hand that feeds them" assuming they could just do anything they wanted and the loyal fans of Stargate would blindly follow them and except it. As anyone who looks will find, there are some outrageous comments from these writers to the people who keep them in work for years! Now to see these same arrogent people begging for those same people to watch there show is pure comedy.
These writers are actually making threats about not having SG1 movies or the end of anymore Stargate at all if this gets canceled? So what? Do you really look at the people that give you a job as drug addicts? This should be a little reality check for you pompous fools. Its Simple business, make a quality product, people will buy(view), not by begging or threatening! Pathetic.

Wow! They actually posted my response to the article, and of course I took the author to task. I suspect they got overwhelmed with responses and just started rubber stamping the posts because I basically pointed out that the author was no journalist and was basically an idiot. Either way, it's gratifying to see that the sickening censorship of places like GW isn't taking place on this particular site. Good job everyone!

I was watching the news the other day and NASA is looking for people to go to Mars. It is expected to be a 3-4 year trip with the proviso that you never expect to come home (due to cost problems getting the required tech to Mars for a return trip). They do however promise to send supplies on a regular basis, so if your really looking for a holiday that is really "escapism" you might find it interesting.
If I came across this program 10 years ago, i would have probably jumped on it, but the 3 kids and wife tends to want to keep me (at least physically) on this planet.
really or is this just a tease (online searches) oh definitely keeping my eyes on that one

The 'author' apparently does not know the meaning of the word debate, lol. The comments are almost totally negative; there is no debate going on at all!

It's so funny to see how excited we get when our posts get through the moderation on other blogs! It really shows everyone how bad the censorship has gotten on gw and Mozzy's blog.
I am also glad to see so many posters calling Wright out on his comments and the abhorrent past behavior of tptb! Look at everyone posting how they gave sgu a chance but thought it was bad. Wright got smacked down for trying to pin his failure on the fans!

And that's exactly my point, this guy is no journalist, let alone an educated one. He's as delusional as TPTB. He must be really young and or extremely immature to so easily confuse the large negative response with genuine debate between pro and con SGU camps. It's funny and sad at the same time.
I'm so sick of these little wannabe journalists who write their opinion pieces and write these "irrefutable" little "facts" like "SGU is still Stargate... BECAUSE I SAY SO!". How is repeating the same shallow relationship drama of the soaps and the scheming backstabbing-ness of the reality shows "pushing the boundaries of the human condition"? How are the relationships, working ethics, and world views of the SGU characters anywhere near those of SG-1 and SGA? How is the spirit of this show anywhere near "Stargate"? I never claimed TPTB created SGU for the sole purpose of pissing me off... but they did create it to cash in on the popularity ( which seems to be waning now, or perhaps the market has been sated? ) of the negative sides of people/society/humanity. And with their arrogance and belittling of the fans of the previous series they have, purposefully or not, pissed me off personally. I enjoy reading all the comments though, the tide seems to have turned in our favour now. We may be a minority in how we express our opinions in public, but we are by no means a minority in holding these opinions!
