Bite Me !

Like the man says go to ANY message board, anywhere on the net and you'll see people puking their guts out over this turd sandwich of a television show. Deliberately? Like in you deliberately cancelled and then wrecked one of the very few television shows I watch?

I've always maintained that the only way to get their attention was by rating$. It's finally sinking in although SyFy plays a huge role in it. Like the man says, "BYE-BYE!"

From the author of the article in question:

I get it. I’m a fan of Stargate SG-1. I’m a fan of Stargate Atlantis. I’m also a fan of Stargate Universe. Atlantis, as sad as it is to say, is over. As Huffman rightly points out, savaging Universe because you’re angry about that won’t bring it back. (No one thinks that Atlantis will be back, but nice try with the attempt to deflect our attention from the real cause of SGU's failure: it's total suckage as a Stargate show.)

As a journalist,((You're not a journalist, that much is obvious. Journalists know how to compose an article and also how to proof read their pieces. And the only kind of journalist that makes false accusations about the reasons for something, i.e. the demise of SGU, are YELLOW journalists. Again, you are no journalist, you're a Howler monkey sitting at a computer begging for peanuts from your owners.) I’m happy to have another Stargate show to cover. As a fan, I’m just pleased that Stargate is still on the air, and despite its differences to previous incarnations of the franchise, I love it. But I’m not asking you to like it as much as I’m do, I’m asking those fans of Atlantis who haven’t seen it, or who deride it purely because it’s not Atlantis, to let it go. The franchise needs your support now than ever, because if Universe fails, we might not see another series again. (This whole paragraph is a tangled mess of contradictions and confusion. Simply terrible writing by someone who clearly isn't a trained journalist.)

Universe wasn’t responsible for the demise of Atlantis. Stop punishing it.
Hey genius, your entire argument is one big

RED HERRING!

Listen dumbshit, SGU is being savaged because it's a lousy show, you moron! This has absolutely ZERO to do with Stargate Atlantis. The fact that Atlantis was canceled in favor of this turd (and it was, don't even try to lie) has NOTHING to do with the fact that SGU is terrible on its own! If Atlantis had never been canceled and was still in production and on the que alongside SGU that wouldn't change the fact that no one is watching SGU because it sucks ass. Your argument is beyond flawed and sounds like it was written by some kid in middle school.

Again, you are no journalist for many reasons, not the least of which is your lack of objectivity when reviewing the subject matter. You openly admit that you are a fan of SGU (clear bias) which reveals you have no objectivity to address the subject at hand. Objectivity is the first thing they teach when one is pursuing a degree in journalism. Apparently you dropped that class during your matriculation at university. Being a fan of the subject matter doesn't mean one can't be objective about it at the same time but you, clearly, don't have the professional fortitude to look at things objectively. Also, a true journalist wouldn't try to cast blame on fans of the franchise for not liking the crap they are being served as a Stargate show and would have directed some objectively legitimate questions about the flaws of said show to the producers and writers, you transparent propagandist hand puppet!

You, sir, are nothing but FAIL!

Hey, I got it!

Remember that time when we used the stones and took over the bodies of TPTB to write those horrible scripts in order to make shitty episodes that would kill SGU?

I think he might be referring to that.

That was supposed to be a secret. Now you're in for it!

Wow nice and biased always good to see!

I left a comment also, minus the invective of my post here, but it's still in moderation. I doubt it will get posted because it points out the obvious and we can't have that now can we?

If that one didn't make it through, mine won't for sure. So here it is! (Note Janice is NOT my real name, actually I hate that name...don't know why I use it as a web pseudonym).

yep only two comments on there at the mo, both telling him hes got it wrong. I did note that 24? people had "liked it" realy???

this can only divide fandom more. it also makes me think someone from on high is breathing down totb knecks if the sudden pleading and blame games have started right now when the ratings are going tits up.

Since it apparently doesn't fit in with his narrow view of the world, I suspect it will be declined.

Just another version of cherry picking opinions to support one's view of things.

And the guy even refers to himself as a "journalist" right in the article yet he fails to see his own bias and lack of objectivity. I guess they don't teach professionalism when it comes to getting a journalism degree these days.

Yes, what we're seeing is desperation at this point. They are lashing out and trying, desperately, to avoid the blame for this gigantic failure. Too bad for them that they can't escape reality.

And yeah, I saw that a bunch of people "liked" the article but I also noticed there wasn't anyplace that I could click on "don't like" the article. How odd. I think it's hilarious that that site is no doubt getting tons of negative comments and barely any positive ones. What a bunch of deluded fools. :icon_lol:

You know, thinking about it, I have issues with the whole "not your Father's Stargate" comment. The Stargate fans in my home are female, not male, and we've been watching since the movie (and O'Neil with one "L" and thus less of a sense of humor) came out.

I love how some people are making assumptions about the gender of Stargate fans.

And no, women liking a show doesn't necessarily have to do with sexuality/sexiness. Believe it or not, Brad and Friends, there are many many women out there who like the thoughtful, intelligent stuff.

It's too bad you're not offering that with SGU.

It just occured to me that BW was blaming sg1&sga fans but the journalist is concentrating on sga fans only.

Also yes SGU did cause SGA's cancellation. sgu had already been put on the table and approved before the decision on sga had been made according to JM'S blog a short while ago. couple that with BW stating in his q&a on JM'S blog that he would never run two shoes side by side ever again and that leaves the obvious. he had already chosen sgu.

Well, I told him what I have to say on the issue, and I don't think he'll like it because it's true:

Great post! It's actually better than the article itself which means it probably won't be approved by the mod. You rebuffed pretty much every point the author made, and then some. It's a shame that some people are so petty and dishonest that they can't handle the truth when it's presented to them. Fingers crossed that you make it thru the gauntlet.

Does Brad Wrong actually believe that hoards of angry and disgruntled SGA fans have deliberately sabotaged SGU?! If he does then he needs professional help. In fact perhaps we could have a collection for a straight jacket in Brad's size.

Great posts in reply everyone!

Anyway everybody grab your pitchforks, next we are going to invade Poland. Next stop the whole world!!

Well.
This article is obviously an opinion piece. If it had been an actual news article, the author would have given a little time to the the alternative viewpoint. He could have contacted one of the anti-website owners, for instance, and found out the primary reason why we hate SGU. It's true that it replaced SGA, that its tone is different, that it has no humor, that it disrespects the military. All of those things play into why fans and casual viewers don't like it. But I would be willing to bet that SGUºS would have half the traffic it does (or not exist at all) were it not for one problem that was ENTIRELY AVOIDABLE-

...and that is the arrogance of the show's creators and their disdain for the stories, characters, fans and even the actors of the previous two shows.

Without this attitude on their part, I personally would have still disliked SGU. But my involvement would have ended with just turning off the tv set. The fact that I'm here is due solely to the incredibly counterproductive, divisive statements made by BW and others.

They made their bed. Now they can lie in it.

Sadly, I think this spells the end of the franchise. With yet another unwise jab at the former fans, it's clear there's no intention of going ahead with either movie. And when they fail to be made, he'll blame us for that, too.

Just went over the article and comments and you see what.
Only 2 comments left.
Where are yours?
Are you sure you posted them?
I noticed too the name of Micheal Simpson the one who changed his mind about sgu and the one who tweeted under the username support_scifi, the one who tried to discuss with some fans and who didn't see any blackmail in any interview or intervention coming from BW JM.
so we can tell this "journalist" is only a great worshipper of Michael Simpson BW and co and totally dislike negative comments and very censored abilities.
