Probably, but I think its backfired on him. I don't ascribe to the theory that there's no such thing as bad publicity. The original opinion piece inadvertently held him up as a target to ridiculed for his conspiracy theories, and inability to put together a watchable show that appealed to any audience, target demo or not. Who in the future is going to hire a train wreck of a show runner who seems to have no clue how to bring in viewers & critics?

The difference being that Brad Wright has to compete in the private sector. He's not being given a blank check to produce something without economic strings, which is what he's whining about most vociferously. The idiot actually expected the Stargate audience to swallow his crap and beg for more. He didn't expect fans would actually be independent thinkers who made rational decisions. In this regard, the NEA grant recipient fares better than BW. :icon_lol:

I thought that too, I don't know if it was his intention but it's certainly blown up into something big. At this point any publicity is good publicity - SGU is getting mentioned all around the web.

Sorry kiddo but BW is going to be looking for a job in the next few months and who is going to want to hire a "problematic producer"? with the recession and people trying to stretch their money, only a fool would hire someone who courts bad publicity like BW. the show sucks...everyone knows that by now and BW whining about it is only BW shooting his own foot ---and maybe even the one he keeps in his mouth! ;)

I'm new here, as far as posting, but I hated the show immediately upon its worthless and cringing premiere.

The fact is, they are in the denial stage. SGU is finally dying and they must do whatever it takes to keep whatever jobs they have. As a comparison to SGA, it is an obvious failure. SGAtlantis has ITS detractors too, I was one of them, but I liked the show more and more later on. I didn't really much like the show that much at first, but really, the 2-parters with the original cast members slowly drew me in and as much as I hate the wraith, there really are some good Stargate episodes in there.

SGU, I tried, I really did. I hated it at first, even before it aired. But then when I watched, I was astounded, I did not expect it to be as atrocious as it was. Atlantis was 'different' for sure. A lot of people don't like different, and as I said, the Wraith are just plain cheesy and stupid to me, (then again the goa'uld are pretty cheesy too), but they didn't alter it to the point of trying to be some other show in existence. This Battlestargate GalactiLost show isn't just bad because its trying to be something else, its bad because the camera work, the acting, the writing sucks, and it appears to have little to do with the original Stargate SG1, SGA, or even the movie starring Kurt Russell.

When I saw Daniel Jackson running around on earth with a pistol and a swat team like Jack Bauer, I'm like WTF is going on here? Seriously? they've altered the original characters, these aren't the characters I know...this is ridiculous.

What they did TO Stargate, they did for RATINGS, and what they did altered and distorted the original shows we all liked, who wouldn't be pissed off? Especially when they get rid of an existing show, and scrap the other projects to give us this pretentious crap they call Stargate Universe. Brad Wright can kiss my ass, I hope he gets fired, I hope they get someone who actually wants Stargate to be Stargate to continue this franchise, because I think this guy, Wright may be responsible for killing it.

I think, if they're listening, once SGU is finally dead and gone, they should at least do a SG1/Atlantis movie, even a combo with all the characters in one, if it is to be the final death of Stargate...which sucks, I hope it doesn't end with a lesbian sex scene.

My crawler has found this article in RSS feeds and everywhere there is commentary, its almost universally against Brad and his whiney blame of Atlantis fans. They are all saying basically the same things, over and over:

1) Brad messed up the franchise by changing the formula and assuming the original audience would stick around. 2) The show is a bad show.

That article is setting views records and comments records on those websites which have decided to carry it. Here, it (this thread) has quickly become one of the highest viewed threads on this entire forum. Only the Ratings thread gets more views. This cant be good for Brad, and its even worse for the show. How bad is it if the fandom of a particular show is thumbing down the show? Its bad, but not as bad as thumbing down its Producers/Writers. After this show has been canceled, Brad will need to find other work, and his claim to fame is that he derailed a successful franchise by making MAJOR mistakes and showing over-the-top arrogance towards its fanbase. Just LOL! Let him try to find work with some other science fiction franchise :facepalm: One loud mistake after another.

He might have affected viewership for this next episode tonight. I cant wait for the ratings! Eli and Ginn in bed? A weak looking derelict alien ship? :puke:

Yes, brother Brad got a lot of cheap PR this week. But I don't think this will really help, not him, not the show. The thing with this "better bad then No comments" is that also networks have an eye on it. The way BW after and gambled to find an answer that he can like speaks alot about his ego. Not the best way to come to the mind of any network.

I wouldn't be surprised if the ratings went up because just like the message boards people are going to watch to see HOW BAD IT IS! Be Wrong will see a rise in ratings for all the wrong reasons. Maybe we'll have to wait until next week for the big crash. Due to the superior conjunction of Saturn of course.

And hold the snark - I saw a comment posted that demanded better looking lesbians!
