After Kinect Star Wars, I'm not sure that's possible anymore. I know I can't shed another tear for the integrity of the franchise anymore.

After THAT I don't think there's anywhere for Star Wars to go but up.

OMG...really? Just....what? That is a GAME???? It looks sooooooooo Disney. Exactly what I would expect. Its pathetic. Im just shaking my head. Expect more of that. Lots more. And new stuff like Star Wars VII ringtones, social media, fashion, and plenty of crossover actors into children's programming and the music industry. Why dont they just change the Disney castle into something from Star Wars in their film logo, and have the Millenium Falcon fly whilst farting pixie dust like Tinkerbell does today?

That is awful. I am so sorry for your loss. :(

Except that video is from a game that came out in 2012, well before the Disney purchase.

The dance routine is from a subsection of the game specifically put in there for jokes and comedy stuff. It is also a kiddie game, not a thematic game like some other titles.

Damn you man! I was just going to post this!

I "unfriend you" again :icon_e_surprised:

I wonder if Serkis will be playing a 'Yoda species' character?

I see Hamil, Ford and Fisher in the pic above-barely know or never heard of many of the rest

The only name I recognized on that list was Max von Sydow. The rest are all no-names to me. :daniel_new004:

But hey, at least we aren't going to get Zac Freakin' Efron. :icon_lol:

Once Disney has picked their calves, they are in for life. They will each become a "property" of Disney, and they will be groomed and marketed and used in other Disney stuff from here on out. They have it made. :) They will make stars out of those young actors and it is a win/win for them.

I don't think I'll ever get over the casting of Adam Driver in these new flicks. The dude is just f------ gross! The character he plays in Girls is a loser POS and I get the vibe that he isn't acting the part so much as simply living it.

Dude is gross, just gross. The only reason I'd get near him with a ten-foot pole would be to beat him with it, the nasty freak!

I can deal with someone who we don't consider conventionally attractive (read: ugly) but I just find Adam Driver to be vile. He's weird and the character he plays on Girls is just gross. I really don't think he's acting in that role but rather, it's really how he is as a person. He's like this post-adolescent loser that wouldn't know what to do with a bar of soap if someone put it in his hand and rubbed it on his ugly body.

I could go on but I'm sure you get my point.

Guess they failed. :(

I cant believe he was ever a real Marine. He had to be a reservist. The behavior he is displaying is so Animal House. :( So undignified!

From what his bio says, he was a regular in the USMC however only served a small number years, did one tour of Iraq then got MD'd because he had 2 injuries, one from a biking accident the other in a training exercise.

Anyways, my beef right now is that once again JJ Abrams is completely messing with canon, particularly that of the expanded universe. He is just removing so much of it just so 'he can have his own little version' I mean all the books, comics and computer games are now made utterly pointless/worthless because Mr Abram's seems to lack any kind of creativity when working with other peoples material, no he has to rewrite everything, treating the IP like its a corpse and he's a freaking necromancer.

Side note because a lot of this is being filmed here in the UK, there is naturally a massive boom going on in the filming industry. However.
They are saying that they want people outside of the film industry to partake in the production, ok cool gaining a different perspective but the biggest kicker here is that, the first year you do, is unpaid and it is located in London. That is right, they want you to work for a entire year being unpaid in the highest priced location in the UK. These people have no clue what so ever, they aren't going to be attracting the people they want, instead they are going to get more of the same, the same people like themselves who got 'Daddy' to pay for their expenses (and probably knew a few people in the industry for that door way break). Plus as well you aren't guaranteed a job at the end of it. What the hell are these people thinking. No one is going to do that.

Actually it wasn't JJ Abrams who decided to basically "decanonize" the EU it was Disney.

http://screencrave.com/2014-04-25/star-wars-episode-vii-eu-nonsense/

And to be honest they did have to do it. The Star Wars EU has a vast mass of material in it, some of it contradicting other parts of it and some good some just really naff. To make it worse, most of the EU has only had exposure to a small subset of the moviegoing public. Trying to make a sequel film incorporating all of the EU as canon would result in a mess. So as a result someone had to make this sort of call.

It sounds like some EU elements will be in the new CGI series and others will live on in a "Legends" book series.

Maybe they signed Adam Driver to put him in a latex suit to be some sort of alien (the secret love child of Jar Jar Binks and Jabba the Hutt).

Yes, it was Disney, hence I have had no Ire towards JJ based on that decision.

Examples please.

Agreed

If they did not have their collective head up their Arse, thinking that the "average movie goer" gives a TOSS about having the original characters in it, they would have avoided the mess. Rather simple really. Instead, they have shifted the timeline to reflect the age of the Original actors. No one had to make any such call whatsoever.

It sounds like some EU elements will be in the new CGI series and others will live on in a "Legends" book series.

I am heavily torn here. If the knobs who want to blow the EU canon away go back and choose to draw on the EU canon, then the original writers should donkey punch them in the nuts. I am sure Lucas and now Disney have set legal rulings in place to prevent such things, but If I see a Mara Jade, a Suncrusher, Maw Installation, Yuuzan Vong, countless planets described in the EU and a DAMN THING from those 30 odd years I would want the EU creators to have legal recourse to sue the everliving crap out of Disney. Very creative people, people with more creativity the George Lucas KEPT Star wars ALIVE and vibrant and RELAVENT in the minds of not just people who saw SW 4-6, but those who became enamoured with that galaxy and wanted more out of it.
On the other hand, I don't want to see all that creativity just go tit's up because someone wants to be a douchebag.
