What's wrong with this show? It has action it has a diverse cast with minorities and same sex couples. It also has a great story! You guys probably don't like it because of canon but I think these missions being secret are very plausible!

I know for a fact that singularity has not been watching it since day one like I have. I have been watching it since the very first episode aired in 1966. I even lived with this actress and to this day I still have her cat which I adopted when she and I left the house she was sharing (she owned it):

I have done the convention thing, met all of the TOS cast, read every book, and even met Roddenberry himself. Suffice it to say, I can give in minute detail why Discovery sucks, and have done so on this forum.

DS9 was awesome (I am in that camp). It is arguably the most well rounded and best expression of Roddenberry's vision for Star Trek. Enterprise....not so much. But I still consider it Star Trek, and after Discovery came out, it seems great in comparison. Discovery is not Star Trek.

ENTERPRISE came out about the start of when TPTB's assumed that everyone wanted their sci fi 'bright and shiny' and lacking depth (pew pew, sfx and beautiful people)

it was good though if only it gave us the story of the start of the NX program

The problem is that it's not trek. This is not the vision of the gene roddenberry franchise. Even if you were to remove the star trek name, it's not a good show. No character development. The story arc is non-existence

I beg your pardon but there has been a lot of character development especially with Lorca, Michael and Georgiuo. Lorca's story was totally unexpected! Also there was q well written story arc. The only thing I don't like about this show is the Klingons, they suck, they're stupid looking and the guy who decided to give them a huge makeover must get himself a job cleaning toilets.

3 years ago. I lived with her for about a year and a half. When she divorced, she opened a bedroom in her home and I moved in. But her cats both fell in love with me, and she took her yorkie, and I took the cats. One of the cats died, and I still have the other one. Through her, I met Adam West before he died, Morgan Fairchild (I have a picture of me with her), Louise Fletcher, Arlene Martel (T'Pring who was Spock's arranged wife in TOS) and many others. Before I met Sherry, I had already met Shatner, Nimoy, Walter Koenig, Nichelle Nichols, DeForest Kelley, both Majel and Gene Roddenberry, Gene L. Coon, and a few of the writers in TOS and also TNG. I am a YUUUUGE Trekkie.

And I loathe Discovery.

Just no. How can you like this show? Either you are not really a Star Trek fan, or you are a new Kelvin fan. Anyone familiar with Star Trek can see this is no more Star Trek than Dracula is Batman.

You should know, this site spun off of SGUSUCKS.com (Stargate Universe Sucks.com). Suffice it to say that NOBODY here likes SGU in the least.

The problem with the characters like Michael is that they don't belong at star fleet PERIOD! Neither do any of the others. Someone who is not mentally or physically stable like this, does mutiny against the captain, would get kicked out immediately because it posses a serious risk for the safety of the crew and the mission.

Oh singlelady you just described Ro Laren from the next gen and just about everyone on Voyager. This would also apply to Riker's insubordination, Kirk's constant disregard of the the prime directive and insubordination, Checkov's struggle with him being unsure of himself, T'Pol's insubordination and sometimes questionable loyalty. It's apparent you don't like Star Trek at all if what you're describing is your beef with the show.

Star Trek is also about peaceful exploration of space, not guns and destruction.

Have you ever watched Star Trek?

We have our moments of emotional lapses, but she was a prisoner and then somehow become a starfleet crew and started questioning what the captain had ordered and then said, we need to shoot them. This is a mind of a psychopath who loves chaos and destruction. The whole thing sounds like an incoherent mess.
