Star Trek Discovery SUCKS.

Its because the name and experience of "Star Trek" is 50 years old, and has value as an IP. The problem is like what has been said: if you can't make it Star Trek, then don't! Discovery is not Star Trek, and neither will be Picard or the animated series. They haven't gotten any of it right. But, they could have. Hardly anyone has issues with this same conundrum which happened when The Next Generation came out. EVERYTHING was different, from the uniforms to the ship. But the timeframe was also more than 100 years after Kirk. Discovery should have started AFTER Nemesis. Changes in the ship designs and uniforms would have been okay. There is no excuse for the Klingons or the dumb tardigrade or the Mirror universe which they have messed up too.

Dude, read the date on that article. It's from way back in June. Patrick Stewart announced he was going to be back in August.
Yeah, perhaps that was his original idea, then he decided to make the Picard show instead? At this point, nothing happening with Star Trek interests me as long as Klutzman is involved.

I highly doubt there will be a TNG reboot. None of the casts apart from Picard have been contacted regarding the new show. So, I feel you are jumping the gun a bit.
If you know that Kuntzman is involved then would you watch the series?
I will taste it...just to see.
But this hack Klutzman tends to show his cards right in the beginning, and lays out the direction of his stuff. It isn't like he can create a nuanced Star Trek segue into a new show or anything. 
I am not saying there would be a TNG reboot after you pointed out the date.
I was saying that I assumed that the original plan was to reboot TNG, then that must have been shelved in favor of the new Picard show. Of course, I have no idea what they were going to do. 
But if Kuntzman is involved, I have little interest.

I'm so tired of there being no forward momentum with Trek. The endless looking backwards to find a story to tell is so fatiguing. "Let's go back before the Kirk era! Let's do a Star Fleet Academy show! Let's reboot TNGVOYDS9ENTWXYZ! Let's stick a colonoscopy scope up Kirk's ass/Spock's ass/Picard's ass to find some more stories to tell!!!"

When is the Teen Kirk live action show gonna debut? At some point, they are supposedly going to nullify the prime timeline and overwrite it. At least that is what some of the Trek sites are saying. It has to do with the split licensing. But the concept is stupid. You can't just go back and erase everything. There are 50 years of real life and real people who watched all of that unfold. This new crap is completely different. Why didn't they just make a separate thing and call it something else? Wait...they did. But they insisted in slotting it into the existing canon before most of Star Trek started. Why should any true fan accept this?

Teen Kirk? Did we discuss this already? There's so much crap coming out of the ST camp that I can't keep it all straight. Suffice to say we don't need a show about Kirk's teen years. No one wants to see that, literally no one other than the people creating the show to begin with.

Just a pic from an early acting job Chris Pine did. I think it was a cop show, CSI something or other. I can't quite remember exactly.
The interesting thing to think about is if they actually did a "Teen Kirk" show they would probably make him an emo soyboi because 60's era Kirk was far too predatory for today's tastes and that wouldn't fly in our PC world. Hell, Shatner's "Kirk" would be considered a borderline rapist today.
