I saw that announcement, and I was going to start a new thread on it but these little webisode-like NuTrek shorts are going to be only available to CBS All Access viewers, so what is the point? I mean, nobody here has a subscription to that....do they?
Word has it that the Discovery Spock is going to be used to tie the timelines together, and explain why the Klingons look so different. Now, it seems, the NuKlingons were merely "ritually shaved" because of their House. Also, some of the Klingon houses evidently were on different worlds in the Klingon Empire, and that some of them had hair, while others experimented with genetics (to explain the human looking TOS Klingons). It's a complete mess.

It blows my mind that they're actually wasting time explaining this nonsense. They really should have just scrapped STD totally and started over from scratch.

Get this...they are not only aiming to tie the TOS timeline together with the Discovery timeline, but they want to tie it to the KELVIN timeline. You see, to them, the Discovery timeline IS the prime timeline, so they will evidently not explain any of the completely different events of Discovery, and will just try to tie the Kelvin timeline into the Discovery NuPrime timeline. This is the equivalent of stabbing Star Trek multiple times with a butcher knife, splattering the galaxy with red matter splatters of blood. I am SOOOO done with Star Trek.
Nah, I'm good. I think I have to sort rubber bands or count out exactly how many sunflower seeds are in the bag I just bought or something. Not much time left to watch these.

You will want to have a listen to this . I will speak simply . Personally my heart is beyond broken . Star Trek has been killed , butchered , frozen , thawed and cooked up as dog meet for toothless hounds . I for one shall never ever be tuned into a CBS collection of Star Trek entertainment ever again , or anything crappy bull shit has to offer .

THAT, my friend, is paid shill commentary. It is always very obvious by it's over the top nonsensical excitement and exclamation marks. The great thing about shill commentary is that it cannot conceal the reality of failure. One or even 100 shills spread around forums and paid media sites to create "buzz" really is pointless if that buzz does not translate into eyes watching STD. Season 1 was a complete fail, resulting in the firing of the entire writing staff and a complete backpedal into TOS tropes and borrowed characters.

Never going to watch it , only through intelligent reviews will I know anything of it ,,,
I made it all the way to 6:30 before I couldn't watch anymore. That is pretty good I think! The writing is SOOOO BAAAAD. Dumb dialogue, dumb concept, dumb Tilly and dumb alien. The whole thing was thrown together. If this is a taste of what to expect in Season 2, they might as well just start collecting boxes and packing tape. Take the plants home, and empty the desks of non-essentials.
OMG. What in the name of the Bajoran Prophets have they done? THIS is the new Discovery Spock. Yes, he is bearded, and no he isn't in the mirror universe. And, this is supposed to be 10 years before Kirk and (real) Spock?

The casting of this guy is AWFUL. And why the beard? Spock is not bearded, except in the mirror universe. If they were hoping to appeal to fans of Star Trek by reaching out for TOS tropes, then a bearded Spock who looks weak and timid is not gonna do it. Season 2 is also a goner. I have seen enough in the little Trek Short and the leaked other scenes and reveals of Spock to see that it is just more nonsense calling itself Star Trek. CBS All Access deserves to die for this.
Horrible. Oh well, two seasons puts it on par with the original animated series. That's really bad!
I couldn't make it through the "Runaway" short, and the Klingons for Season 2 are exactly what I predicted they would be: Season 1 NuKlingons with wigs.
. It is actually WORSE than Season 1.Hahaha! It is just cringeworthy. I noticed about two months ago that stdsucks.com was available, but in a very short time I realized that this show would not be around long enough to make buying it worth it.
But, it is STILL available if anyone is interested. I will give any assistance if requested.
