well i can agree that he didnt fit ontu SGU and his caracter was delibretly made fun of in that scene were he jokes and tellford and young give him looks.. id bet my gonads that whole thing was intentional to belittle SG1 and original SG.

and as the scenes were so short it isnt really something i noticed as OOC as to me he was himself but the character he was playing doesnt fit into SGU as SGU took (past tense) itself waaaaaaaaaay to seriously so serious that it just ended up ridiculous..

oh and the jack Ive gotten to know threw the years LOVED the gate and hated command.. so i dont see where you got that from?

I've been waiting forever for someone to express the same thing about O'Neill on SGU. The scene with Young and Telford was so awkward and so NOT Jack O'Neill. Even the jokes he tried to crack didn't fit the scene at all, no way, no how.

I agree. It could be the ONLY thing on all the channels at 10:00pm and I would find something else to do. 10:00pm is a good time to play Amnesia or another PC game.

Yeah, I hedged my bet just to be on the safe side. Didn't want to let wishes inform my guess. Since there seems to be a dearth of stuff to watch right now SGU could have some higher numbers for that night.

I know what I'll be doing- sleeping. Compared to my college classes, SGU is marginally more interesting than my least favorite class, which is on Monday, and since I actually enjoy my Tuesday classes, I'm not losing any sleep over it.

Ok, just got some very interesting info, was going to post it on GW, but some members there have turned me off from posting so will give you guys the exclusive...

Just heard that if SGU averages 1.7 to 1.8 Million viewers in total viewers live+SD, and around a 0.6/2 18 to 49 demo, they may very well reverse the cancellation. I just heard this from someone. As much as I want to say this is speculation, this makes sense to me.

So if you want to see SGU stay dead hope for the lower, if you want to see it renewed hope for anything north of 1.7 Million viewers and a solid 0.6 age demo.

Oh and if this quote does somehow make it to GW, will likely get a lovely post from KEK on GW, lol. Can't wait for that one. lol.

I'm thinking it's going to trend lower for the final ten. I don't think it's going to be sub-million for the most part, but I certainly don't think it's going to average over 1.5, and that's being generous.

Well Craig is right from Syfy, a 1.7 to 1.8 Million average would be literally more than a 50% improvement. But we know the chance of this happening is like very little.

So, does this mean one of the "hurdles" Brad was trying to overcome was the writing staff itself? From what I can tell, all the prominent players in the writing team have either been "released" or left of thier seeming own accord.

I hope you post this "back home" dude, because even if "we" don't want SGU back, it will show all those "one post wonders" over there that are currently slamming Syfy for making a business decision that Syfy still supports the stargate franchise.

That reminds me...

Folks don't realize, especially on GW, that 1.5 Million viewers and a 0.5 demo approx is what is called the break even point. Once it sailed south of that, it was basically on life support, with it's only hope, was to regain viewers on Tuesday.

BTW, I was wrong, I'm sorry. Syfy said they would consider some continuation, not a renewal or um reverse cancellation. SGU is dead as a series. But they would only consider the continuation if the last 10 eps do very well.

Since SGA and SG1 did well in their last 10 eps, I wish they'd enter into negotiations with MGM for some sort of continuation of these two shows. I can't see how anybody would lose in that scenario. Heck make a Vancouver forest based mini-series or redress the U sets, they don't need to recreate everything in order to make a movie or a mini-series!

Well, Syfy is still making money on the reruns for SG-1 and SGA. Syfy said they wanted a SGA movie and said they would air it. MGM has been the issue with this.
