Star Wars #7 Character Details

The Khan rumor came much later in production and had more than one source. I was wrong as it turned out.

This one is way early in production, from only one source and only a day old. My tendency is not to believe rumors I admit.

Yes, it came later. But this thing has been in pre-production/production since 2010 when Abrams got hired to do it. There is more reason to believe it than not, especially since the story HAS been written, and there is a draft somewhere, probably many. Like the Kahn leak, the studio may or may not throw something out there to quell the rumor or maybe even "leak" conflicting rumors. Badass could be forced to print a retraction if it were untrue. Lets see how much life these rumors have.

True, we need to see how much life this rumor has.

The script only got completed very recently though - remember Kasdan was only called in late last October to redo the script originally done by James Arndt and was specifically called in because of his understanding of Star Wars and of how a Star Wars story should be structured and operate. Filming was delayed as a result so the 2010 project start is a bit misleading.

Kasdan was probably called in to fix messups Abrams and his crew had going. I bet there will be more fixing going on too. That pic in your link is definitely the Millenium Falcon. It could not be anything else. :)

That would embarrass Abrams big time :) It also would not be surprising if Kathleen Kennedy (Lucasfilm president) saw what Abrams was concocting and visions of the prequels flashed before her eyes. So she went to Kasdan who she knows from when they both worked for Steven Spielberg and asked for help.

Who knows? But I do agree that the timing of Kasdan coming in coupled with the delay in production makes it look like what you suggest.

That actually is not farfetched at all. :) Disney is far more interested in sure things than not, when it comes to acquisitions. It needs to make a strong hit on this next Star Wars film if they want to continue making money on it. They can't allow it to dead end after 5 or 6 years after a hack like Abrams slings mud on it. I am certain more than a few had reservations about the last Trek film and the rather public anger of the Trek fanbase (despite earnings). Disney keeps it's icons alive for as long as humanly possible. Mickey Mouse is over 80 years old and the tiniest of toddlers know who he is.

Kasdan will be given license to throw out stuff that does not belong...hopefully. :)

You're right, this has to be a serious motivation for the execs to insure that this time the movies are done right. I think the prequels fizzled out in the secondary markets in terms of merchandising, etc. This time around they have to be hoping to make the characters more iconic and relate-able so people will actually buy the stuff and continue to buy it for a long, long time.

Disney + Star WARS = cHAOS (It is for kids, and it is funny but for my real opinion see my Avatar's caption)

Just.... Funny, but somehow sad. They put cheese on Star Wars and served it in a Happy Meal.

Who said it is a X-wing?

If you look closely at it it appears that the wings have a seam and are capable of splitting, including the engines. JL dissected it pretty well in the previous pages to the point of explaining how the engines are able to split.

But WHO said t was an X wing?
Perhaps it is a next generational ship called something else?

I think it was in whatever link I embedded the clip from but regardless, it's being listed as such by numerous links. Here's one but if you Google it you'll find lots more:

Several months ago, J.J. Abrams kicked off Star Wars: Force For Change, an initiative to raise money for the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) with the prize being a trip to the set of Star Wars Episode VII. The first video revealed a brand new creature from the world. A second video revealed the new X-Wing fighter. And now, Abrams revealed the results of the initiative and winner’s name with another excitingly cryptic photo. Is it a Episode 7 droid hand? Or perhaps Luke Skywalker’s robot hand? Check it out and read more about the Force for Change winner below.

I'm just glad that they're using real sets and props as opposed to being overly CGI.

Per my last post on the villains and in other "leaked" info--seems like JJ is going to use a lot of his favorite flash back scenes (like in LOST and FRINGE) to show us what happened with ppl like Vader, Leia (the reason Carrie Fisher's daughter was casted to play her younger self-pre ep 4 it seems) and the Inquisitors--agents who worked for Vader

Some fans are calling this retconning but to be fair, we never saw everything that was going on with Vader and the Imperials in any of the original movies--only their interactions with one rebel fleet, or base at a time and nothing on what was going on in the rest of the galaxy

Surely, someone worthy of Vader's confidence (and hence the Emperor's) was prosecuting the war against other rebel units elsewhere

Would be cool if some of these Inquisitors or other Vader boys were Clones promoted to special op/ torture squad, etc status--sure it won't happen though

More JJ meddling

"chrome troopers"

lets remember the empire has suffered severe losses so why would they (the empire) taken the time to redesign uniforms? Doesn't fit the already established plot

Gossip is he may also be going with the way back when Ralph McQuarrie design for the troopers by giving them lightsabers as well

not as force sensitive beings-just as weapons
