Sanctuary Ratings Discussion

Does anyone know what the broadcast networks will air in the Castle and Hawaii Five O time slots? Will it be reruns of those shows, summer premieres or special programming?
Sorry, perhaps somebody in the US can answer that. :(

Anyway, although this was an excellent episode, even better than last week IMO, I wasn't all that impressed by the previews. It wasn't clear at all that Druitt or Tesla would be in the episode, much less play an important role. So I'm wondering how that will reflect on the ratings. Still I expect a huge gain compared to last week. :)

ABC is running all new 'The Bachelorette' CBS ran some weird special live thing and NBC has all new Law and Order LA on.

Yeah I don't know who is to blame here. Is SyFy the one required to put together the previews/commercials? If so, how do they know what to focus on? Does the production team for Sanctuary have a hand in it?

They put some effort into producing this episode so it would suck if it only got mediocre ratings.

That's right. It almost seems like they just pick a random scene or two. The sneak peek for "Normandy" was more like the teasers they sometimes do on shows, where the only suspense factor was Dr. Watson being shot - although everybody knows he probably wasn't going to survive.
But that's what we saw in SGU as well - they often managed to miss the 1-2 actually exciting scenes in every episode and put up a boring sneak peek.

Good thing the show is already renewed, the SGU people are gonna have a field day with this. :icon_e_wink:

Wow and I thought I might have lowballed it with my guess.

Starting to genuinely think that your dead in the water on Syfy without summer or friday.

Looks like I owe Joelist a public apology for doubting him about how detrimental the change in nights was for Sanctuary. These numbers are just insane for a show that was doing so well previously. If this keeps up I don't think that the renewal notice will matter much. With numbers like these they could axe it at any time. Not good.

Oh my god those ratings are poor.
This episode was the best of the whole season but I guess they've had too many mediocre ones before it so many people lost interest.
That's a shame coz I think a show like this doesn't regain a lot of viewers after losing them.
With major shows there's usually more talk and advertising but this is a different case.

I think you're right. Even if they get moved back to Friday nights they will probably have suffered a fatal blow. Maybe they can make up some lost ground but that can be hard to do.

One just winds up shrugging ones shoulders. This was a quality episode as was the one before it. Yet the ratings suddenly go down.

Typical SyFy stupidity. Pull a show out of its native time slot where it was bringing in healthy numbers and move it with no real advertising to a very different slot. Thankfully Season 4 is already greenlit, so hopefully when it comes back it will be back in its proper day and time.

Damn! That's low.

Methinks the show needs to be put on Fridays in Summer time to recover, maybe air it with Haven. But if they move it to Summer we'll have to wait nearly a year for it
