Don't stay complacent though. The cheap reality show that replaced Sanctuary saw a massive boost when placed after wrestling, it's previous home being the one Sanctuary is in now. That suggests the Wrestling was keeping it afloat. Also how many shows have you seen regain the kind of numbers that Sanctuary has lost? It really did shed a large number of people.
So yeh I'm concerned for its Season 5 chances already, especially considering the reduced episode order they gave this time around...
Here's the thing though yoshi, check this out:
Live + 7's for the April 25th episodes of SGU and Sanctuary:
SGU:
Total Viewers: 1.55 million (up from 1.09)
HH Rtg: 1.05 (up from .7)
A18-49 Rtg: .7 (up from .4)
Sanctuary:
Total Viewers: 1.50 million (up from 0.87)
HH Rtg: 1.0 (up from .6)
A18-49 Rtg: 0.5 (up from .2)
To my mind, that indicates that Sanctuary isn't really losing overall viewers (or not enough to really worry about)
As to the 13 ep season for S4
I think that will actually help Sanctuary rather than hinder it. What have people been complaining about the most about Sanctuary lately, silly filler eps. A 13 ep season sorta precludes too much faff, simply because you don't have the time to do them. In all honesty, I think Syfy shold look long and hard and converting from the 20-26 episode format to the tighter 13 ep format. 13 eps is exactly 1/4 of a year and allows for 4 shows per year to make the most of plum spots. It also gets rid of the split season stigma that has been dogging them of late with some fans and requires tighter writing from it's shows (something EVERY show is guilty of at some point is faff).
Oh, I forgot, Urban legends is starting to tank hard already on the friday spot. It's all well and good to have SD as a massive lead in true, but if the WWE fans change channels afterwards, it doesn't much matter does it?
