If you havent seen this episode, you need to watch it. Great stuff! :)
It was a really fun episode. I'm really enjoying this season so far. They are taking what little budget that they have and making it stretch a long way.

I also like Kate, but I never really had a problem with her before. However, the changes that they've made have definitely made her a better fit with the team overall.

I didnt like her at first...AT ALL.

I got used to Ashley in season 1, and I thought the show would never be the same without her. But I was wrong! They fixed Kate after only one season, and now not only is she likable, but I actually root for her! She has really integrated into this team well. I like her hard edged femininity and her toned down street smarts. She and Helen and Edward have great chemistry. But her and the Big Guy REALLY have chemistry. Big Guy is one of my favorite characters on the show. You are right, this season is the best one so far!

Yep. Another good installment.

Also note that this episode probably cost them next to nothing. It was basically Agam Darshi in a catsuit and a few inexpensive outdoor and indoor places to shoot. No special sets needed. And yet it succeeds in telling its story and the acting is again good. Plus you can tell they enjoy doing comedy together.

The cast really does work well together, and they did fix Kate very rapidly. And the fix basically was to tone down the "street tough smart" angle and show her more in the context of being part of the team. Now she fits in, which allowed them to develop how she plays off the other cast members (and yes she and the Big Guy are great together - that image of them watching TV and falling asleep on the couch is priceless).

Yep. They did do an animation of Kate crawling up the building - but it looked really fake - so, probably didn't cost very much! The acting from the main cast was great as usual, but I thought the young CEO guy was almost laughably bad at the beginning - very cheesy/exaggerated - but then again maybe they were doing that on purpose for comedy.

I thought this episode was okay, not great. Maybe because Kate is not eye candy for me :) I want to get back to the mystery city or more Tesla or Druitt! But still it was fun. The Henry-Kate bit w/ the gun was hilarious.

And the "mother's basement" part :icon_lol:

I laughed my ass off when the APB mentioned her being in a "leather" catsuit.

Funniest looking leather I've ever seen. Must have been nauga hide.

Ducking and running...

I never really warmed up to Ashley. I still enjoyed much of the show even when she was there, but I was actually rather glad that she was gone. I felt sorry for Magnus, but I found Ashley to be a bit annoying. I really hate having to watch a show around characters that I don't care about. She was pretty, of course, but I'm not a guy. So pretty doesn't do it for me.

The show itself just keeps getting more and more entertaining. I admire the fact that they seem to be learning from their missteps. As has already been pointed out, they actually seem to listen to the fans. Fans complained about Kate, and they made necessary adjustments. That's the sign of a show that truly wants to be around for the "looooooooooooooong haul."

Ratings were good too.

Sanctuary is averaging around a 1.55 and a .5 18-49 this season. That puts them up around 100,000 viewers over last season and they were quite profitable last season.

Poor Mallozzi getting schooled in showrunning by Amanda Tapping.

Mallozzi is getting clowned by Amanda Tapping. :P She and Joe Flanigan should take over the Stargate franchise and swerve the wheel before Mallozzi and Wright wreck the damned thing. They really wrecked Stargate Universe, but the franchise could be saved as long as they hit the road.

I like Kate better then Ashley now, because her chemistry is better with the rest of the team than Ashley's was. Also, the mother/daughter team thing didnt work all that well (in hindsight). Its a better show now. They fixed Kate so fast...they only changed her personality traits a bit by toning some down and playing others up. PERFECT.

Don't think he is paying attention. Haven't you heard he knows it all already.

Mallozzi is this guy:

Laughed my ass off at the most recent episode when I saw the name of the werewolf victim (before he was victimized) on his room at the sanitarium...

Joseph M.

I wondered if it was deliberate. You'd almost think they were wishing a werewolf attack on the guy.

Plus..LYCANS?

People in Sanctuary-type England watching too much Underworld?

And more Stargate references is always a good thing.

'Could it be a galaxy far far away?'...plus the use of the word gateway and the particle accelerator....

Yeah, that kind of caught my attention.

Is it a bad thing that when they showed that symbol with the chevrons in it that I started counting them?

I liked the installment.

Henry and Will got the A story, and it was a good one. Looks like Henry may be getting a love interest.

Also, Magnus and Tesla working together was a treat. That said, I want him to be a vampire again, but even as a non-vampire Jonathon Young and Amanda Tapping play off each other very well.

Looks like all current Sanctuary relationships start by the characters getting undressed..Will/Clara, and now Henry/Erica...

There's just something fun about Tesla. You can't trust him further than you could throw him. LOL

The actor's an odd-looking bird as it is -- that's not an insult, though.

The chemistry between Tesla and Magnus is delightful.

I loved the reference to Joseph M in room 350!

Hahahaha. I cant help but wonder if AT was being snarky. They could have chosen ANY name...why Joseph M? Why the "gateway" to a "planet far far away"? LMAO!

Also, note the cheap plug for Stargate Universe in faint writing in the lower right of the snapshot. LOL!

Strange stuff in this episode...

This episode left some strange thoughts in my head. First of all, the doctor at the Lycan facility looked a bit too much like Amanda Tapping as Sam Carter. Facial features, height, demeanor...all VERY similar to AT when she was a blonde. Also, Edward...why would they show that he has both his nipples pierced?

View attachment 2166

I couldnt help but notice them. In fact, in my social circles, piercings are associated with lower class people and drug users. Wouldnt AT know that? Even in today's society, piercings like that are associated with pop/teen subculture. I was VERY surprised to see that in this show.

Daughter and I laughed for a long while when we saw the actor's nipple piercings being outed. I think those are real, not faked with makeup.

I hate piercings.

They were definitely real. I somehow think the actor is really into stuff like that. It matches his personal style off screen. But why would they allow him to reveal them in the show? That had the same effect on me as a sudden view of Kate playing with a tongue bar, or seeing a "tramp stamp" tattoo on Amanda Tapping's lower back. I know lots of young people like that sort of thing, but to me a tattoo or piercings spell trouble and are enough to make me avoid people who wear them. Complete turn off. On a side note, I wonder if young people realize that Human Resources directors actually have handbooks and private protocols against people who wear piercings and have tattoos in places like the back of the neck, on the face or visible in any form.

Proof:

http://www.workforce.com/section/hr-management/feature/body-work/

Company policy states: “Visible tattoos and body piercings, except for an earring in one or both ears, are usually prohibited in customer contact positions when wearing an appropriate company-issued uniform. However, management has discretion to allow visible tattoos when they’re not offensive, vulgar, sexual, have gang-related content or are disruptive, distracting or otherwise inappropriate.”

TRANSLATION: "Since we cant openly discriminate, we give general guidelines publicly but if you have a tattoo or unusual piercings, look elsewhere for a job."

http://www.bizjournals.com/denver/stories/2009/12/07/story3.html

More companies are coming up with personal-appearance policies that include rules about tattoos and piercings, such as tongue rings, said Nina Radojevich-Kelley, a professor of management at Metropolitan State College of Denver
Personally, I assume that people who have visible tattoos and body piercings (especially snakebites and eyebrow and tongue piercings) are short-sighted people given over to fads and are not long-term thinkers. I cannot interact objectively with a person who has something stuck through their eyebrow or their lips whilst I am talking to them. :tealc_new050:
