Didn't see the last half hour of the season finale so I don't know what the big cliff hanger was. It better be good if this show expects me to invest in season 2.

They were chasing down leads on a serial defecater who was vandalizing the driver's seat of expensive cars in the Vancouver area. In the latter half of the episode, they had just assigned 3 detectives to work the case 24/7 when Kiera broke a new lead with DNA from a smudge of "evidence" on her sleeve she acquired while searching the defecater's supposed premises using her tech while distracting Carlos with a 3D hologram of a topless woman in the next room. Oh, and something about the ACTUAL STORY LINE in the last 48 seconds of the show.

Well that was alright I guess. A bit of a slow start to the season but hopefully it'll start picking up. I'm at least happy to see that they didn't go with drawing out the reveal of what old Alec's message was until several episodes down the road because that would've just been annoying. Even waiting to reveal it until the end of this episode got a bit tedious, IMO.

I'll try to predict this episode. Yes, I know, a pure shot in the dark with this ever so unpredictable show full of mind-boggling twists and turns, but here goes nothing.

- Kiera and Alec get assigned a new case filled with mystery and intrigue, probably a purse robbery
- Kiera will distract Alec while she uses her tech to find clues
- the crime is solved without so much as a scratch on anyone
- the last 30 seconds we get more crumbs related to the actual storyline

Wrong! This is season 2, the last full minute is full of crumbs :encouragement:

So it's proportional by season now? At this rate, we'd have to wait until season 20 to get a full hour of actual story line. :(

Anyone wanna fill me in if season 2 premiere was any good? This honestly just seems like another western cop show with a science fiction skin over it to be blunt.

As we all have varying opinions as to what being a "western type show" actually is? Let me suggest that with their added budget they might be trying to move away from the typical police procedural. As they have successfully marketed the show to other viewers globally there might not be a need to pander to SyFy and their viewers.

Like I have said previously this show will not be everyone's cup of tea. As violent as it was last year there definitely was a cerebral tinge to the show that may only increase as the next 13 shows evolve into a more Sci-Fi play.

There definitely are several aspects to the season 2 series that I did not expect to see. Show number 2-2 comes up tomorrow after which I will be given a far more clearer direction as to where the show will turn off to.

Having missed the season 1 finale I'm assuming the Kiera doesn't make it back to 2088 or whatever year she's from, oui?

Oui. She's going to be extra busy this year investigating petty misdemeanors like loitering, public indecency, disturbing the peace, public urination, the kind of stuff that can shave 30 seconds off the investigation to add an extra 30 seconds of actual story at the end of every episode, giving us a whole minute.

Just as long as they put in a scene in every episode in season 2 where she's remembering her adorable son and loving husband back home. And they better not have taken out the scene in every episode where her partner Carlos gets knocked unconscious right before she turns into Wonder Woman and saves the day. If he finds out her secret then the jig is up! :icon_e_surprised:

What's the Hollywood term for a gimmick that's been so overused it's got skid marks?

When the fancy suit allows her to fly around as if in an invisible plane I am out. :P

Flying is cool by me but if she can breathe in outer space without using a space suit then I'm out too. ;)

What if they really do that? :( What if they start allowing Alex to make modifications to her suit which allow her to walk through walls, fly, shrink her down to the size of an ant, etc?. This thing with Carlos is not really working.
