I find this show refreshing so far. They need to break the future cop/dumb ass partner relationship at some point, but I'm sure that happens at some point in season one.

So yeah, her suit works in the past - but isn't that because Alec has already set up the infrastructure for it to work? Time loops are always a hoot.

The show actually reminds a little of "Time's Arrow" from ST:TNG. It has a somewhat similar predestination paradox running only in Continuum it is older Alec who is in the Guinan role. He arranged for Kiera to get sent back because when he was younger he met Kiera who had been sent back.

The article had an embeded link to an SFX page to show some "how done" stuff from continuum. kind of interesting.

I don't know what to think if the NYTimes likes a sci fi show.

At least some one else is interested in what happened to the horses. Apartment towers in Stanley Park, what the, those dirty bastages. I knew that once they changed the by-law allowing for buildings over 30 stories that all hell would break loose.

Anyways, my favourite Continuum show is coming up. Long dead "Rosie Larsen" will do some of her things; like poking fun at her old character and the behind the scene shenanigans where they tried to hide the fact that they were filming a Seattle show, The Killing, in Vancouver.

I'm trying so hard to love this series but it's just too damned slow. Most episodes feel like fillers, barely advancing the back story until the last minute or two. It feels too much like it's trying to merge Hill Street Blues with the suggestion of sci-fi.

I'm with you 100%. I'm really not a cynical bastard about every show on TV, I swear. I am trying to give this one a chance but I'm finding it harder to do as the series goes on. To be blunt, I've suspended my disbelief about as far as I can. The whole gimmick of wrapping things up in the last 2 minutes while her partner is distracted is really lame.

They need to step it up and give me a reason to care about these characters. As it is the bad guys are cardboard cut outs with no depth. A well written bad guy is almost sympathetic and his motivations are understandable. I'm not getting that with this show. Having "Braetac" act all mysterious and guru-like really doesn't cut it when his motivations aren't explained.

One of the problems of Continuum is that they are trying to mix two genres of shows; one either of the typical police procedural with a little bit of Western thrown in; and five or ten minutes of what we could easily identify as being Sci-Fi. As I have mentioned somewhere else it looks like if you are a fan of one genre then you do not follow the other one. Thus the ratings are not what you expect for a combined show.

After watching all ten shows I expect this season will have to make room for the 'visitor from the past' routine in preparation for Kiera's trip back home. As well as introducing someone that will do their best to thwart her ambitions of making that trip home. With Liber-eight almost being decimated we will need another group of baddies to keep the season interesting.

last ep i swore it was a 'stand alone' one with them investigating the murder of male detective's (i haven't even remembered the names) lady friend

that is, until the end where they showthe Brataec character and his driver in the T.P.'s car.

How about a mix between "Law and Order, LA and SGU"--now thats low.

Should we know better by now though? I mean they hype the hell out of syfy monday and it seemseverything on monday just fizzles (except for the sex and paranormal crap) away.

Here's the first S2 trailer:

No actual footage from the coming episodes, but I'm excited nonetheless. :D

Why are you excited nonetheless? What excites you about this show? So far I'm having to work at finding it interesting.

And I swear if they do that thing where her partner gets knocked out or is distracted when she does her futuristic cop action moves one more freakin' time I'm going to label this show a flying turd sandwich and give up on it! :daniel01:

I didn't even realize it was still on-S1 at least. Each time I watch it there is nothing that says to me "i have to remember to tune in next week"

I mean I am grateful that syfy is trying-I just wish they would try harder...

Oh my god this show is SO uneventful! Every episode is a goddamn filler. This show has turned into nothing more than a cliche cop show with snitches, petty thugs and other run-of-the-mill criminals.

I'll stick around for season 2 because I'm pathetically desperate for some good TV scifi.

This show is playing cutsie woostie with its episodes titles:

Matter of Time
A Test of Time
Time's Up
The Politics of Time
Playtime
Family Time
Endtimes

It's like they're acutely aware the show has gone so far off its rails that they need to keep reminding us the show is science fiction and has something to do with time travel in spite of it being more like a bad remake of Adam-12.

How about an episode entitled "Ok, It's Time We Admitted We F'ked Up" and put the premise back into the core of each episode before they're "Out of Time" and lose many of us for good "This Time"?

Didn't see the last half hour of the season finale so I don't know what the big cliff hanger was. It better be good if this show expects me to invest in season 2.
