So off the meds now for 4 weeks almost . Been having trouble controlling my anger a little . I really am trying hard to keep it at bay .
I've been a bit rude or short with my family and a few friends of mine coming back with not so much hurtful statements but ignorant just the same ... Breath ,,,in out ,,,slowly ... 12345678910,,,,10987654321 ,,, .
At least I am noticing it and not being blind to it .
I think I also suffer from Hypoglycemia . Even when I was younger I would get real grumpy if I had not eatin anything . I am a big eater . Always have been . In my house I cleaned up all my four brothers left overs and anyone else that was silly enough to leave there plate unguarded . Stayed super slim my whole life . This bloating thingy though is new to me . Never had that before and so am here looking for some advice and so far it's been awesome . What should I keep in my pocket to stave off the hunger and grumpyness if out and about so as not to alienate everyone around me ???
You are NOT obese or even near it.You have extra fat, but you can burn that off pretty easily with diet. You do not have a belly fold (when your belly is so fat it creates a crease across your lower abdomen). You do not have pronounced moods, and your neck muscles are still defined. So, you are overweight but not even near obese. I am sure Bluce can make a better assessment, but on my way from 260 to 180 today, I felt PROUD to look like that when I reached that point.

I keep Planters Dry Roasted nuts for that.The salt is fine. You can do smokehouse almonds or raw, as long as your nuts are not coated in toffee or chocolate or anything else (including yogurt). That will take care of hunger cravings because of the protein. But the other craving is for sweet stuff. You can eat strawberries, grapes, or for the summer you can buy or make sugar free popsicles. You can make a nice tall glass of ice tea or fill a thermos with it, sweetened with Splenda.
For me, grumpy comes when I am craving sweets. Hunger comes when needing food, or if I have already eaten, needing protein. When you have managed your weight and you know how it all works, you can eventually have an ACTUAL donut or piece of cake or a candy bar, and know exactly how to keep it from becoming stored fat. Any diet that keeps you feeling hungry is not going to work.

I forgot to ask . What or how much should I eat before a workout . I'm at the gym at 6:00 am . Is it like the rule before you go swimming ? Wait an hr ?

No, no, no! Unsalted peanuts! Stay away from salt if you're trying to defeat bloating! Salted snacks contain way too much salt.

Goddamn did I feel bloated when I took that.
I know...I eat my almonds unsalted. but I have to have salted peanuts. Atkins says the salt is okay, as long as I am in maintenance (I am)
. It is part of making it (my diet) work for me in the long run. I even eat DONUTS! Only on Friday, only in the morning, and only two.
Friday is my cheat day.
That depends on what you're doing. You can do cardio on an empty stomach but not weight lifting. As for how much food and how long you wait before going, that's entirely up to you.
A typical pre-workout for me would look like this:
- 6 eggs
- 2/3 cup oatmeal
- 1 cup yogurt
- banana
I wait about 30 minutes then hit the gym for a couple hours.
Many people will take a protein shake pre-workout, which is perfectly fine. A protein powder where 2 scoops would yield about 40g-50g of protein mixed in 2 cups of almond milk should be sufficient for you.
Throw in a banana pre-workout. The potassium will help with muscle soreness and the carbs will help you push harder through your workout.
