So now you get the "non cartoonish cartoon" thing? :winking0052:

Hey OM, would you merge the SW REBELS thread with this one? Some of us are putting rebels stuff there and some are putting it here-might as well put them together

Rebels...is that another show sorta like this one? Is it any good?

Its not quite out yet

Set between eps 3 and 4. Same as the storyline from the "force unleashed" game-- it would be very interesting to see if they include Starkiller-or some version of him--just like the game, it will show the beginning "shots" of the rebellion, surviving Jedi, etc.

So, this one isnt written by Lucas nor is it done by Lucasfilm?

Everything that has been done in games and movies/tv and just about all of the fan fiction books and comics has become "sanctioned" by Lucas/Lucasfilm/Disney

I posted something in the is thread a while back about how Lucasfilm has an official team going through all the game story and fan fiction to "edit" out any thing that they do not believe is SW worthy (like some killer rabbit looking thing)
From the Wiki:

Star Wars Rebels is an upcoming CGI animated series that will be produced by Lucasfilm and Lucasfilm Animation. It takes place between Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, in which theGalactic Empire is securing its grip on the galaxy and hunting down the last of the Jedi Knights as a fledgling rebellion against the Empire is taking form. On February 17, 2014, Disney XD presented two teaser trailers for the series during the Season Premiere of Lab Rats & Kickin' It.[1] The series is scheduled to premiere in Fall 2014 as a one-hour special on Disney Channel before airing regularly on Disney XD.[2]

Dave Filoni, Simon Kinberg, and Greg Weisman have all been announced as executive producers. The villain's official role as The Inquisitor in the Empire was revealed at the 2013 New York Comic-Con.[3] In January 2014, an astromech droid named Chopper (C1-10P) was revealed.[4]

He doesn't look very threatening to me. Perhaps they will put him in a cool black suit and cape?

I think that Disney's Star Wars will come to define the newest interpretation of what THEY will call "science fiction" for a generation...maybe two. Star Trek is no longer a factor because JJ Abrams poisoned it...perhaps fatally. Star Wars will be considered "science fiction" when it is fantasy, and if it takes off then other writers of soap and fantasy and maybe even horror will jump on the bandwagon and write their "science fiction" skinned soaps and fantasy pieces.

(vaguely related) Does anybody else here know that soap opera writers are BY FAR the most common writer class in Hollywood? Soap operas employ more than 50% of all TV writing jobs.

The executive said the movie would be released in December 2015 and that the story would pick up “where 6 left off -- and where 6 left off is 35 years ago by the time this is released.”

yup, that is what i have always read about the new trilogy-continuing the story after Return of the Jedi, just later on in time; new republic and jedi order, imperial remnant, new sith, etc

I know it's futile to hope that Disney makes these new films darker and more adult themed. But honestly, I can't take anymore childish BS aimed at kids.

Tis why a lot of older SW fans were hoping for stuff set in the Old Republic or Hyperspace wars era, much darker time in the SW galaxies.

I think it will get WORSE. Why? because the Jedi (the Good Guys) are back in power which means Ewoks and Gungans are free to breed and be just as stupid and useless as they wanna be. :( I see them taking the opportunity to bring teens into it, and develop them as properties within Disney much like the Mouseketeers used to do for them. They can "matriculate" teens through it and then use their SW notoriety to place them in later movies or TV series. It is the Disney Way. Im almost ready to start the pool as to when Disney will come up with a Star Wars PERMANENT presence in the theme parks. No need for Tomorrowland, when they have Star Wars. They already have the Jedi Training Academy and Star Tours at our Disneyland. How soon before there is an R2D2 in the Main Street Electric Parade along ith C3P0? How about a Tomorrowland bar with dancing, robotic singing aliens? Something like that is coming, bet on it. :)

Oh well. :( The SW universe is fresh in it's Dawn of Good, and all we need now are an ascended race from a planet full of unicorns and lollipop bushes and jellybean farms. :bored:

Hopefully Tusken Raiders chased him down and trampled him to a pulp with a herd of banthas -- and then fed the pieces to their banthas just to be sure the universe was rid of him.
