it was BAAAD :P

Bits of it were pretty baad, sure, but some were good IMO, like the past stuff with Jor-El, the Kawachi caves, the Veritas story arc and such, but some were really bad too (handling of Darksied, the Lana/countess arc etc)

Yeah, but to keep trying to revive something that strikes out even before it hits the mound every 5-10 years is ridiculous. :(
you know "hollywood" an established audience is easier to get into seats rather then brand new audience..

all about the money and potential for profit.

To be honest I didn't really mind it. I can't say that I liked it either, it was just pretty much just there. Y'know, I got home from school at around 3pm, TV6 was showing reruns of the show so I just had it on in the background while I surfed on my laptop while munching on a few nectarines. I think I may actually have watched most of the show without paying any real attention to what was going on.

Agreed but the last Superschmuck tanked at the box office so bad that the DVD set was released as special edition media coasters at Bed Bath and Beyond. Unless they plan to rebuild their audience little by little, counting on the last 8 people who saw the last one to show up with the next 8 people for this one, I don't see the viability.

too true but imo that was due to the old format and weak overall movie.
and if this new one is indeed alien kal el with alot of scifi elements mixed in i think it could really work for todays audience.

Ya know, that might just work.

Indeed
Scifi as a genre is still pretty strong in movie format, it's the TV format that is really taking the knocks, mainly due to TV being about 4 years behind in trends.

aye i think it might actually work to do a superman like that and from what ive read and heard that is what man of steel will try to do, now dont get me wrong they could potentially royally screw the pooch on it but i prefer to keep my hopes up for now ;)

The little teaser trailer made it look all right, you can sorta see the Nolan influences.

Why would Superman have a vapor trail coming off his feet as he flies?

Looks good, I love it when he takes off and frustrated when he takes off. Love it cause he's flying which is just way too awesome. Frustrated cause I can't. Honestly, think my life would have been satisfying if I could just fly like that, in that raw form. Trailer's clearer over at imdb

fly fast enough and high enough and see for yourself.

Generally fuel exhaust creates contrails at high altitudes -- condensation, ice crystals forming, yada yada yada. In rare cases if the atmospheric conditions are right, it can occur from sources other than engine exhaust, helicopter rotor blades, etc.

So, clearly the scientific answer to why Sciphonic didn't have a trail when he jumped off the couch is because he hadn't drunk enough tequila.
