I'm sorry, but I think David Blue is a straightforward person. And it was his idea, so we're taking him on his word... sort of. So I don't see why. All I can do is guarantee that his debate will be closely moderated and kept fair and objective. I'm giving MY word on that.

And it's not "guys" atm, just me. I don't know if the rest of the team would go with it, but I have a feeling they would if DB responds.

I would be very cordial. I also think that if we can get him to talk about it here that we would have a great discussion about it.

As long as he is not going to try to "shank" any of us? WTF. To me, that is pretty unredeemable..

He is probably using the West Hollywood definition of "shank". And something tells me the "lady" doth protest too much about who would be the shanker and who would be the shankee. ;)

And seriously, that dough boy wouldn't know the business end of a shank from an ice cream scoop -- and let's face it, he knows a hell of a lot about ice cream scoops.

Based on his tone, seems like he was talking this
1. shank 2245 up, 289 down
shank, shanked

orgin: prison slang

A homemade knife.

made out of scrap of metal found anywhere and sharpend like a knife. and bottom tightly wrapped with a cloth as a handle.

shanked.

to be stabbed by a homemade knife.
"CrookedEye John" got shanked up..

I heard he got hit with a rusty shank.

Do I dare to ask what the West Hollywood meaning is? Or does it have to be on FH? I only know of the Prison slang for it.

West Hollywood is primarily known as a gay community. Granted, the term "shank" isn't used to denote anything in gay vernacular, but if the Prada shoe fits... ;)

Okay, so what does that mean he meant?

Where's Shavedape?? "never say never"

I'd love for David Blue to come here and engage in debate -- and I'd even be civil to him believe it or not. But I doubt that will ever happen based upon the fact that he, being a coward, only uses one-way communication to slam those of us who don't like SGU. He talks crap about being open to debate but to that I say put down the box of Krispy Kreme andshow me, don't tell me, dude.

When David Blue shows up to civilly discuss his views on SGU and Stargate fandom I'll be respectful but until that happens I'll continue to call him out for being the fake-ass, brown nosing ***** that he is. And his girth is a legitimate point of derision and argument as, since he's such a legit "actor", he obviously didn't manage in an effort to give his best portrayal of the character of "Eli". The character should have definitely lost weight and had a visible change over the months that he's supposedly have been on Destiny, which doesn't exactly have a grocery store on it. Horrible, horrible acting faux pas; downright fraudulent as method acting goes. That is as much the fault of DB as it is the producers who let him get away with it.

Okay, so what does that mean he meant?

I was making a joke about anal intercourse, "shank" being a euphemism for the act. ;)

(And now Mr. Anderson's head spins right off his shoulders onto his keyboard.)

Dear David,

While most of us fans don't have the possibility of seeing you in person, we here at GateFans.net gladly accept your challenge and thus cordially invite you to take part in an online discussion, perhaps Q&A style, where you can explain to us Stargate fans why SGU was so great and why the fandom was wrong in giving up watching after a respectable viewership rating when the first episodes premiered. We would also be glad to discuss any other topics you wish regarding the Stargate Franchise and its fans.
Please contact our admin Overmind One so we can set up a special thread for that purpose. We mods can guarantee you that we will make sure the debate is civil and polite, one based on sound arguments and not emotional appeals, and that nobody will resort to personal attacks or insults.
We look forward to hearing you reply.

Sincerely,
Mr. A.

PS: Admins, please feel free to edit this post as you wish, to repost a version of it on our front page, or even to Facebook/Tweet it to Mr. Blue. Thanks, Mr. A.

Believe it or not I second this motion. Yes, we should make this invitation as public as possible to David Blue. He said he would discuss this with anyone so I say let's call his bluff. If he actually accepted the offer to debate he might just garner some respect from me even if we still disagreed on SGU and his attending ill treatment of Stargate fans; key word being "might". I won't hold my breath though.

Just teasing a bit. I was trying to keep this discussion from being transferred to FLAME HELL. ;)
