Cookie Clicker! The most addictive game ever.

I just saved my play to disk, wiped my cookie and have started completely from square 1.
And within one hour of playing I have reached 561 CPS without any cookie clicks and without using any upgrades. So far I have only 10 Cursors, 10 Grandmas, 10 Farms and 10 Mines. Just over 300000 cookies baked.

WOW!!! Never has there been a more definitive need for a group of middle aged men to acquire a (healthy) hobby then you guys! :smiley-laughing021:

you should grow a tomato plant or something :shame:

Excellent idea! In the time it takes to water and tend the tomato plant, my cookie production should be high enough to buy more upgrades! :daniel_new_anime021:

I'm at 21 Legacy. I might ascend when I hit 25. Then again I might hold out for longer. I haven't experienced what you guys have yet with the wrinklers and all that so we'll see.

The upgrade "One Mind" is what triggers it. There is a warning in the upgrade that the Grandmas are getting restless, and that their behavior is unpredictable if you do the upgrade. You need to have at least 100 Grandmas. I found that buying buildings triggers the availability of certain upgrades only after a certain number of buildings in that category are reached. Also, the Cookie Dragon needs for you to sacrifice buildings to morph into certain other types of cookie dragons.

There is yet much to be experienced still my padawan.

By the time I get home, I might have several billion cookies to spend. If not, I'll be disappointed.

I have ascended three times already. :icon_razz: But here is that upgrade that triggers the Grandmacalypse. Its called One Mind. Once you research that, the background of the big cookie goes to a darker red tone, and the Grandma turns into a Goa'uld. :) You need at least 100 grandmas to trigger the upgrade. The wrinklers start coming for the cookie and if you minimize the window then when you come back, as many as 10 of them will be munching on the cookie. But like Lord Ba'al said, if you pop them then you get zillions of cookies from them which represent the 5% of CPS they cost you.

Once you go for the upgrade, you get this warning:

If you say yes, that starts the Grandmacalypse. After a while, you can get the Elder Pact which stops it. And you can revoke or renew the pact when you want which is fun. There is a particularly satisfying "pop" sound when you kill the wrinklers. :)

So basically I was right. First screenshot shows what I found when I got home. Second screenshot is at exactly 24 hours since the start of the game.

I just had a little fuckup. I thought I'd ascend at each prestige level and I just achieved the first one so I click ascend and confirm yes. Then I realize that even though I gained a prestige level this has no effect on my cookies per second whatsoever unless I buy certain upgrades. But since I'm playing without clicking the cookie or buying upgrades this is of no use to me. I had remembered to take a screenshot before ascending, but apparently not to save the game. Then I reloaded my save game realizing my error but found out that I lost over half a trillion cookies doing that and of course I had forgotten to save the game after ascending as well so now I can't go back to that either. Ah well, guess I'll just have to accept it and try to make up for the half a trillion as quickly as possible.

Aw fuck it. I'm just gonna start clicking the cookie and buying upgrades now. I got the achievements I wanted already anyway. Neverclick, True Neverclick and Hardcore. Think I might try to ascend as often as possible now instead of not clicking the cookie or buying upgrades.

Edit: No! I'm gonna still not click that big cookie. But I am buying upgrades.

Edit: On second thought I'm not going to ascend but try to go for a long run instead. Gonna try not to ascend until I at least have the Black Cat's Paw achievement.

What's the benefit of not clicking?

It just makes it more challenging for me. Plus I've noticed that trying not to click the big cookie is an excellent training for self control. It is really hard at first once you got used to clicking it like crazy. And then there's the added benefit of not getting carpal tunnel syndrome.

I've edited my post above by the way, just FYI.

I only click the cookie to buy enough Grandmas then it's mostly always automated by buying buildings. Of course, there are those click frenzies. :)

I've got the option for the "One Mind" upgrade but haven't activated it yet. Not sure I want to deal with the Grandma revolt just yet.

You don't lose anything. :) Just the "weather" changes and becomes dark and ominous. You can lose cookies if you click the red cookies (they spawn like the golden cookies), but it isn't anything really devastating. :) Also, after a short time, you get the Elder's Pact which stops the Grandmas.

Yes but is it worth it? Will it add to my CPS or is it just a distraction?

When you come out of the other end, your CPS has increased significantly (after the Elders Pact). Plus, it's FUN!
