They could go rogue.........
Finally caught up after watching CA 2 to see how it's reflected in the show. Still pretty underwhelmed by it. Everything they do in the show seems to be so inconsequential in the movie verse. Their whole plot seems to be pretty self-contained. The whole world isn't in chaos after the collapse of you know what. Everything seems to be fine in the rest of the world. All the consequences seem to be contained to those within the know-how. I don't really feel the gravity of the whole thing being reflected on the rest of the world at large. Shield's presence in the grander world seems so minute. Eh, let's see what the finale does, if anything.
I was talking about the other way around. Their doings in the show is not reflected in the movie-verse. It's mostly a one way street from what I've seen so far. All the referencing they do is pretty superficial.
Im pretty sure they will keep it that way. The show could be cancelled. The movies are not subject to "cancellation". But the Avengers and Captain America have been mentioned specifically in the show, and the last two episodes are about Fury, even though we never have seen him in the show.
Fury is going to appear in ep 1.22
Watching Cap2 gives you a better understanding of the takeover of Shield by Hydra.

Yeah, I accept that. But those mentions here and there seem cheap, as in condescending fanservice. Like here's a morsel for you guys. And I guess, in my opinion, everything they do in the show feels so inconsequential because of that non-influence the show has on the movies. Everything they do feels inconsequential. But how we value that aspect obviously differs, that's fine. We'll just agree to disagree on that.Well CA2's script was still finished before the show even started production so it's not like there was a lot of crossover potential there, and IMO the show shouldn't have much impact on the movies themselves. The movies have an exponentially larger audience than the show itself and are even released in markets where the show doesn't air. And as OM1 said there is always a chance the show could be cancelled.
And after all, the original thought with the show was that it would focus on what happens between the big events of the movies, when the Avengers aren't out and about. Then it only seems logical that the movies would have a more significant influence on the show than the other way around.
