This isn't exactly about the Syfy forum, but the Syfy site itself.

They are running a poll to see which SG1 episodes are the fan favorites. It's for an upcoming marathon of SG1 on May 3.
http://www.syfy.com/stargate/poll/

(of course a little advert for SGU is playing in the corner)

So the SaveSGU campaign tweets for people to go to the Syfy Facebook site and make comment after comment about how their favorite episode was the one where SG1 saves SGU.

"@SaveSGU: OK Stargate Universe, Stargate Atlantis and Stargate fans. Let's pull a little prank on Syfy, go to the thread... fb.me/WnY1JjW7 " (the link is to the Facebook site)

Nothing really bad, just a little silly. Wonder what Syfy thinks about it?

I don't know. Aren't sci-fi fans more tech savvy? So wouldn't that reflect on forum activity and forum opinions? I mean there's only two ways to sort of look at it:

A. Sci-fi fans are tech savvy, so this would support sgu fans' rationalization of less viewers but would also indicate that forum opinions do matter and are representative of opinions on the show. But viewership is determined by nielson viewers, which doesn't really matter if nielson viewers are tech savvy or not.

Or

B. Sci-fi fans aren't tech savvy, so this would not support sgu fans' rationalization of less viewers due to tech savviness and would indicate that forums do not really matter and do not represent opinions of the show.

Or it might be in the middle.

Well they seem to be mobalising it as some one is croweing on syfy forum about how amazing there doing. Must suck if your an sg1 fan and not an sgu fan and the marathon has a cross over ep, instead of a sg1 fan fave.

also this was on syfy face book page

I think it's both. Clearly it's an unprovoked swipe at SGA fans. The implication is that somehow SGA fans are circumventing the success of SGU. Typical squee illogic.

OMG . Unbelievable garbage spewing from these SGU fans . Why do they keep blaming SGA . The show was a failure and not very many liked it . End of story .

Folks wonder why SGU was canned because the arrogance of the SGU fans is worse than TPTB.

I am pretty peeved at that. You got that soap box guy on syfy giving it the "all gatefans together" and yet hes promoting comments like that.

I hope syfy are not taken in by this rubbish and that those who can post on GW let the sg1 fans know that they need to vote or they could get screwed over.

Arrogance coupled with outright stupidity. It's nothing more than playground name calling with squees like this. Funny how this guy takes a swipe at SGA but can't give a reason for doing so other than his hurt lil' squee feelings. What a douche.
