I see what you're saying... all those facebook comments similar to "the episode where SG-1 stops SyFy from canceling SGU!" and the like. I agree, it's annoying and bizarre, and completely illogical reasoning on their part, but it's only 400-some comments from squeedrones.
I think there's a tiny segment of stargate fans that are like cattle. To be honest, any series is gonna have its squeedrones, and Twitter and Facebook have empowered everyone with an internet connection to "have their say." I think it's also one of the reasons why big corporations tend to ignore emails and "likes" on webpages and favor real statistics like Nielsen.
Personally, I just ended up voting for my SG-1 favorites and didn't bother doing anything on Facebook or Twitter. I mean... look at some of the bizarro-scary-nasty-insane "trending topics" on Twitter, and it's pretty obvious they're an unthinking mob. Heh!
