Im not a member of FB so cant read all the comments. i hope someone told him how unhelpful that rubbish is :(

Like all "kids" he's just looking for attention, for validation, even if it is negative. The best thing to do is to ignore him. Giving credence to such a ridiculous statement will only egg him on to doing more of the same in the future.

Frankly, I just don't understand the nutbars that blame everything on SGA fans. It makes no sense. Or the squeedrones... how can anyone love a TV show that much?

Sure, I've seen a -few- SGA fans get angry because SGU took its place. And to be honest, their position does make a certain amount of sense (why replace a show with good ratings with one that has poor ratings?). But the anti-SGA squeedrones act like there was a gigantic, nationwide coalition of SGA fans that somehow magically got SGU canceled.

SGU, because of what it was, honestly required pulling in fans outside of stargate lovers. And it just didn't.

Sometimes I think it's just immature bluster. Like, "I'm gonna say something so shocking and hateful, it's guaranteed to stir the pot!"

It's even more funny that without the more popular SG1/SGA, there would have been no SGU. At least the last two promoted further series, but the latest one killed it.

Well they seem to be mobalising it as some one is croweing on syfy forum about how amazing there doing. Must suck if your an sg1 fan and not an sgu fan and the marathon has a cross over ep, instead of a sg1 fan fave.

also this was on syfy face book page

I have no idea?

I tell you one thing, if this was being done by sga fans on an sgu marathon the amount crying and stamping of feet on the floor would be 100x greater.

SG1 was required to launch both Atlantis and Universe - I don't see how anyone can be annoyed about this.

I've never enjoyed Stargate as much as I did when Jack O'Neill, Jackson, Carter and 'Indeed' Teal'c were kicking arse and taking names across the galaxy.

Realy, you cant see how annoyed you would be if a group of people were tryting to skew the voting to a different show? because they are different. There not doing this because they like sg1 there doing it for sgu unless ive missed a post/comment that states differently?

As to youe second point they didnt do that on sgu, unless i missed something there also.

I see what you're saying... all those facebook comments similar to "the episode where SG-1 stops SyFy from canceling SGU!" and the like. I agree, it's annoying and bizarre, and completely illogical reasoning on their part, but it's only 400-some comments from squeedrones.

I think there's a tiny segment of stargate fans that are like cattle. To be honest, any series is gonna have its squeedrones, and Twitter and Facebook have empowered everyone with an internet connection to "have their say." I think it's also one of the reasons why big corporations tend to ignore emails and "likes" on webpages and favor real statistics like Nielsen.

Personally, I just ended up voting for my SG-1 favorites and didn't bother doing anything on Facebook or Twitter. I mean... look at some of the bizarro-scary-nasty-insane "trending topics" on Twitter, and it's pretty obvious they're an unthinking mob. Heh! :)

I thought people were getting annoyed that SG1 was having a marathon. I don't get what the issue is though, theres no way to get SGU episodes in an SG1 marathon right? If they want to let Syfy know they still support Stargate in the form of SGU then fair enough, it wont affect the voting.

Aye, situation made worst with re-tweets. Basically regurgitating somebody else's post word for word, simply laziness.

SGU already had a marathon for both seasons up to 2.5, they didn't bother to watch. Syfy IMO are allowed to air marathons for whatever shows they want, including BSG or SG-1 or SGA. The world does not revolve around SGU, SGU squees are the most undeserving of all SG fandoms, and if they don't like it - tough.

No the world doesn't revolve around SGU but if they want to post messages somewhere where Syfy are reading about Stargate then fair enough. As I said it doesn't affect anyone, nor does it affect the SG1 marathon. If it did then it would be a different matter.

of course no one is annoyed about an sg1 marathon. they are voting for the sgu epsides that had sg1 guest stars in. or at least thats what im getting from the link from serenity s. So skewing the voting to actualy have an sgu episode aired. If it is just leaving comments I still think its annoying.
I dont have FB so cant look into it any further. But i thought the voting was leaving a comment with the ep's name? if im wrong then I apologise.

I love all Stargate, but my absolute favorite ultimate is SG1. It is the original. Alittle respect too much too ask? :icon_eek:

This is like when your teenager or little kid rebels against mom and dad. :(

This reminds me of the Crosby ep where he says " I brought you into this world and I can take you out." :P ;)
