It has a name: Star Trek: Into Darkness.

I will watch it. I just hope it isn't a fail like avengers was.

Avengers was a fail?

I hope you're referring to the Ralph Fiennes/Uma Thurman movie, The Avengers, as Avengers/Avengers Assemble was really quite the box office draw.

(I liked it, too.)

He's referring to the one released this year.

I got the impression it was more of a Kirk dies moment. Spock is standing on the other side of the window.

Well that would be a twist. :daniel_new004: A pointless twist as we know Kirk ain't gonna stay dead. But yeah, I think you're right in your assessment of the hands. Chris Pine has rather delicate, womanly hands (which is disappointing but not a deal breaker when it comes to wrecking him in bed ;) ) and I kind of wondered what was going on there.

Seeing as the villain is not Khan I doubt we're talking about a TWoK redux. Odds are it's an isolated scene misinterpreted.

Yeah I think it's probably a red herring to be honest.

It couldn't be TWoK. Even with history changed, we'd still be about 18 years in for that event. There's the initial encounter where they drop Khan and his crew on Ceti Alpha V then there's the Ceti Alpha VI destruction event, causing an orbital shift that leaves Ceti Alpha V a desert world.

So far, the clip doesn't give me the impression we're going to see Mitchel with god-like powers.

i am still interested to know what the "jet fighter" aircraft are? if on earth, do we still need a military? has not the "star trek planet" already occurred when the earth is united in bliss and love?

Or is it just a clip from their version of an "antique" air show?

if it is another planet then should be interesting

They looked like small shuttle craft, similar to the ones in the TNG episode "The First Duty" where one of Wesley's fellow cadets was killed during a training accident.

What I don't get is why they're letting out smoke.

that and their shape is what caused me to think of an f-111 or 117

and in the seated crowd (on earth?) we see ppl wearing military uni's not too much diff from todays

perhaps they are flashbacks?

No, the uniforms are consistent with the last movie when they were in dress uniforms. I also think the aircraft are just small craft doing an honor guard salute

It's going to be funny during the next few months, as people try to dissect what they've seen in trailers and picked up from rumor. It's like a variation on the game of Telephone. LOL

i was talking about the crowd seated at about :05 in. we can only see the backs of them. they have on olive drad type uniforms with peaked "service caps (like cops)" that is reminiscent of russian army uni's

and like bluce said, whatever the craft, why do they have an exhaust like a jet?

I am wanting to see this even if just to watch the Enterprise coming at Starfleet Headquarters through the water all JAWS-like. :). Im meh about the story until I know more. No Kahn, and this is not looking like the Gary Mitchell story to me either.
