I threw 10 pounds in gold bricks through a computer store window with a note saying, "Geek! Use this to buy yourself a life!"

Now, if you'll excuse me, my mommy is making me fried pork skin and taffy rolls while I watch Lost in Space reruns in the basement.

BLUCE!!
Thats just cruel, you KNOW the average geek cannot lift 10 pounds.

Elves aren't allowed in the store because they always make a mess of things. :P

They are scattered around the first area you start in, but the quest objects are usualy better than what you buy anyway :)

Mark this day people for this is the end of Graybrew as we know her.

No, I will not be changing. What is it with Wow that you all think I will be converted into some different type of person? :P
I completed my first two objectives, got some cash, learned to fight some bad guys and learned a new skill. I also joined a guild to have my back.

Oh no....Im feeling the call again......WoW, with people I know from here in that world? It might make it worth it to get back in! So, my Kolos1 character is dead, but I can create a new Overmind One. Does it still cost a membership to play WoW?

Im gonna check into it right now. :) I will edit this post with the info I get.

EDIT:

Okay, here is the skinny (US customers)....

http://us.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/2353276256

$15 dollars a month for the month to month membership. It's $14 per month if you're doing the 3 month interval and $13 per month for the 6 month interval.

There are 3 plans. Month to month, 3 month intervals, and 6 month intervals.

There are 4 payment options.

Credit Card, Paypal, Phonebill charge, and time cards.

There is a new "Starter Edition" which I have downloaded, but I dont know if it gets you into the same worls as the full game. Evidently you can upgrade it in place, and I think earlier in this thread that Gray did that. I will re-read the thread for a few pages back. :)

Yes, the starter edition is free and gives you everything but you only have it till level 20. I opted not to prepay for several months, the savings was not worth it in my book.

What are you trying to buy? The BE starting area has armor and weapons dealers available to n left of the building you first find yourself. I've been working on a toon called Edwindrood who I've just gotten to level 35 on. The name is a reference to the first mystery officially on record. I'm bad that way. ;)

Okay, I am going to go look for that. I am working my way through my third quest now. :icon_cool:

They have to pay their developers, their customer service folks, their game masters, support staff, etc.

That $15 a month helps to pay for that, as when I worked there several years ago, they were paying $12 an hour to their Game Masters. Do the math. A Game Master makes per hour just about what a single player pays for their month's service. And they have several hundred Game Masters at work -- and they hire people to work at their own facility. They don't outsource. I like that I'm helping Americans to have jobs.

Seriously.

Strange how WoW doesn't outsource their IT jobs when Dell, IBM, and HP have no problem doing that for more essential IT services. :(
