Tesla/Space x

I get a twice daily e-mail from the Daily Telegraph informing me of the breaking news. Dyson, the fellow who makes vacuum cleaners, is going into the electric car business.

No doubt these cars will be as over-priced as his vacuums are. :rolleye0014:

*Don't get me wrong, I like to keep a clean house and love a good vacuum but $500+ for a household vacuum is ridiculous. Dyson can vacuum my taint with his mouth if he expects me to buy any of his "high-end" products. :eusa_snooty:

The only reason for there to continue being a NASA is if they literally hired Elon Musk to run it, giving him the power to cut and snip the ranks, direct the budget and procurement process, and to oversee research and development. There are literally people with jobs at NASA who work at NASA run daycare centers.

Here is where our tax dollars are going.

Exactly, because NASA is unofficially the aerospace R&D for the military and it always has been. NASA developed the ICBMs, the MIRV, every ballistic missile and sub-based missile. Now, nuclear weapons are much smaller and much smarter. We do not need NASA R&D for space. Roll them into the Pentagon and put them under command. Let Space X send us into space.

What's wrong with that? People do have a family you know? This is all part of the culture. Why should any workplace be dehumanizing?

Nothing wrong with it when you are spending private company money and not my tax dollars. That's what's wrong with it.

The guy might have points but I find his video annoying. Only watched the first one. So what if it doesn't work now. The point is to work towards a point where it does work. With an undertaking such as this you'll want as many people working on it as possible for as long as you can. So the pipe is not what it should be. Perhaps that's because the rest of the development is nowhere near a point where it requires the pipe to be ready.

OK, right? While Musk and others are being visionaries trying to really truly offer us something new and exciting, auto makers are adding LED accent lights to new cars, installing extra stereo speakers and making them park themselves for tens of thousands of dollars more than 3 years ago.

This is why I was calling out Maximum7 in his thread. I know how this works...usually the people with the money and inventor connections to realize ideas, they are not usually creatives. They need to "acquire" ideas to capitalize on, usually at the expense of the person(s) who created the ideas. I have been a victim of it myself.

I just spoke with a buddy who recently took the same tour of SpaceX as I did a couple years ago in Hawthorne. He too was a contract worker there for about two weeks. I just found out that you can only tour the facility if you are escorted by an employee! I worked as a contractor there for only a week, setting up networking stuff in one office, and I got the tour. But I thought there was a public tour already available to the general public. Damn! I was not allowed to take any pictures, but now I feel privileged to have taken that tour. Elon Musk was not on the facility when I took the tour, but here he is doing the tour himself (I did not get to see all the areas shown in this vid)

The SP got hammered after their results were poor. Perfect opportunity to enter or buy more shares
