Talk about a blast from the past!

The Hidden was a cool little movie with Kyle McLaughlin as an alien entity hunting down another one. They can possess bodies, and the movie is chock full of very cool moments and humor as well as action. Its a great popcorn movie. :)

Here is the car chase from the movie. Its science fiction! You just have to see it to understand how this chase fits in.

I forgot all about that one. I don't think I've seen it since it came out. I really should order these on movies on Netflix so I can watch them all over again.

Anybody seen "I am number four" yet? The critics panned it but it has Timothy Olyphant in it, I love him and I was hoping it was going to be good.

How about Species? Only the first one was good to me. The others were milking it.

"The Arrival" starring none other than Charlie Sheen! :icon_lol:

I love that film! I have it in my collection, and I cant watch it back to back with itself like Blade Runner or The Matrix, but its GREAT when I want to see it and watch it thoroughly. Didnt like the second one though....

Yeah it seems the sequels to all of these movies we like are dogs.

I also recommend Equilibrium. Also 28 Days Later, Hellboy 2, Zombieland, Logan's run.

And for something completely out of genre:

Defiance - starring Daniel Craig. It is a based on facts account of the Bielski Ostia in World War 2 in Belorussia. Quite gripping and a little known but very heroic episode.

They always have to attach somebody's "bright ideas" to them in the sequels.

I liked some sequels, but others I hated. After Aliens (Alein II), it was done. Why did they keep going? And the Alien vs Predator was good for a SINGLE movie, not the second one. There are many others. I think many of them are done to "milk" their previous success rather than to further the story. I think that Avatar II will be like that, and the same with Transformers 3. They ruined the X-Men series with sequels, splitting Wolverine off from the others.

Im hoping Trek wont fall prey to that!

All of those in your SciFi list, and its okay to talk about "out of genre" stuff here. :) Ill see if I can find that.

I was horrified when I saw "Alien 3" (cubed). It's like that movie negated everything about the first two movies, ugh! And don't even get me going on the one with Winona Rider in it. Seriously, my brain won't even let me acknowledge that piece of excrement in writing.

As far as I'm concerned there are only two Alien movies: "Alien" and "Aliens", that's it.

The WORST was Alien Resurrection. GOD AWFUL...until Skyline came along. :)
