Just gonna make a whole bunch of recommendations I've recently watched, tv and movies.
TV:
Blake's 7 - I haven't watched it in full only the first two seasons so far. For anyone that has watched Farscape, I'd recommend this. Although this series is dated, I thought it was really good because it took itself seriously and the characters all had personalities, some more than others. Vila and Avon remind me of Mckay from SGA. It's not as wacky as Farscape but had a good somber tone to it that worked. I've been seeing a lot of similarities between Farscape and Blake's 7, wonder if the creator of Farscape saw this show.
Tron: Uprising - Forget the movie, I think many would enjoy this show. It doesn't disappoint, in fact as each episode goes on, it just gets better and better. I'm surprised at the tone and darkness of this considering it's Disney. Also Bruce Box----- voices Tron so that's pretty fun, other major actors also voice the other characters. The story is good, there's a lot of character development which surprises me.
Breaking Bad - It is the best show on tv right now. It is dark, well written. I'd go as far as to say it's written better than Babylon 5, which I thought had the best writing for a tv show. The Wire was written well too, but thought it was too grounded in reality, can just watch the news for that.
Community - It's a funny quirky show but be warned, there's a lot of misses with some of its episodes.
Fate/Zero - anime, would recommend it to anyone into sorta action-y animes, surprised at the writing of this. Also this is a prequel but I recommend you just watch this instead of the other ones.
Monster - another anime, definitely the best anime I've seen. It's grounded in reality sorta. I'd consider it to be a better psychological anime than Death Note for those familiar with anime.
Movies:
The Warrior's Way - I thought it was pretty decent, nothing too groundbreaking. Some of it was cute, with the baby. Action meant to be a visual spectacle more than anything. Good movie to pass the time with.
Amelie - French date movie, it's cute, cute characters.
Rurouni Kenshin: Tsuiokuhen - it's fine if you haven't seen the series. In fact, it's better if you haven't. This is a samurai anime that's surprisingly more about character than non-stop hack-em-up/japanese culture glorification.
