Briangate insinuated that renewal would require averages greater than or equal to a 1.6 and that's just not going to happen with a SEASON PREMIER of 1.17. How many eps are in the can right now? Could they just cancel production mid-season and air what's left?

I think it would need a steady 1.3 to get renewed, 1.6 was around what S1 was IIRC. As to eps in the can, all of the first 10 for sure, and the filming of at least up to ep 15 is done (but they could all still be in post, IDK)

Yes, to be more precise, Briangate said SyFy would be "happy" with a 1.6, but I guess they certainly might renew if they were less than "happy", depending on the circumstances. With that many episodes done already, it'd be a matter of deciding to air them all or not. I wonder if they've got a series wrap-up finale ready to go.

I was wondering that myself (OM1 has produced a stellar S2 cover for SGU however) Apparently, they have had a "ending" for the series since the beginning. A few weeks??, ago however, I noticed that they were considering changing the last eps name, so maybe they have a fallback position ready to go.
