I dunno dude, this one probably got a flow on from seizure due to Mckay, and the next one might get a follow on due to Dupod and it being (from what I've read) more "classic" Stargate.
Just as a side note here, as much as the Mozzie has been ragged on for being err, "silly" on his blog, it strikes me that most of the eps he has a major hand in either seem to do well or serve to highlight "classic" SG elements. Interesting eh?

I also find it interesting that the one episode which was the least 'SGU-like' of all and which I enjoyed the most in this series, namely "Time", was written by the one person who envisioned the show in its current form and was thus responsible for the whole downfall of the SG franchise: Robert C. Cooper.

Time pretty much copy cat-ed other sci-fi stuff and didn't instill any uniqueness or finesse in it's retelling - that's been Cooper's MO for years now.

Sure, but this observation is more about the "background feeling" more than anything else dude. If you really want to get "supra nitty" nearly everything in stargate's (as a series) history is a rip-off of older stuff, it's hardly a "new concept" for them

It's difficult to say precisely because we generally do not have viewer figures prior to the last half of Season 5 of SGA and only have the Syfy coverage rating to compare.
The franchise lows prior to SGU were 2 Season 4 SGA episodes that had a Syfy coverage rating of 0.9.
In Season 2 SGU has gone under that rating 13 out of 15 times (calculated from the national rating).
