At GateWorld there's no justifiable reason for them to delete it, so they'll just call in the payed thugs (i.e. Tanith) or the useful idiots (e.g. Mattsilver) to derail and close the thread.
Actually, since Ux is a probie there, they'll probably mod (=edit) his essay beyond recognition and render it harmless to the casual viewers...
That is an excellent idea! - provided Ux agrees to it. His essay was very well received at Syfy btw, where they hardly censor.

Today's my day off, so i might write something up later. I would much rather prefer Dave's long essay go there as it says everything i could ever want to and more.Please do! That thread needs more critique!

Censor mad, power hungry, boring old farts (the mods) seem to think they can tell people what subject to speak of or on. I saw a comment where the mod TOLD people to get back on subject. Don't have a problem with that but SGU being just one big pile of shit ha smany subjects, none that they want to cover!.

You would think that since Skydiver and Darren are not crazy about SGU they would allow some more negativity than normal. I think Darren is asked by Brad W to tone things down or they will cut out exclusive interviews and whatnot. If it was my show I'd tell Darren to be honest, tell me something sucks. ha ha.

I could have sworn that Gateworld Censorship was higher up the list than that. Unless I'm thinking of the list for Gateworld C.
Is this for real? Something just seems wrong about that, honestly. I'm not sure who this person is but if they are allowed to dictate what ppl should or should not be talking about (beyond obscenity and threats of violence) on a FORUM for goodness sakes, then that says something about the ppl who LET her. I mean really, the posts were too off topic(extinction discussion)????! Who ever heard of such a thing. It's too bad there couldn't be some kind of boycott of that site; ppl like that shouldn't be allowed to continue in that position.

Skydiver allegedly deleted the posts because "ratings are statistics and as such subject to interpretation and manipulation..." 
Like if only 43 people in the US are watching SGU live, one cannot deduce with certainty that the show is failing and nobody but Brian's mom and her friends are watching it?? GayteWorld is a business - I wonder if their advertisers look at their site stats as just "statistics which could mean anything"...?
Furthermore, she wants to protect the actors of SGU from mean-spirited posters like Briangate78 - as opposed to her actually works for Syfy - who insist on using direct quotes from the actors to "embarrass" them... Of all Briangate, who moderates the SGU board on the syfy forums - she questions his judgement??
The real reason is: season 2 of the show is about to air, and her bosses in bed and being bribed by Joe Maslozzy and Brad Wrong didn't like what was being posted - it threatened the already limping ratings of a show on the verge of being cancelled because the only other show it's beating in viewership is the other poor copy of BSG - Caprica. So they're erasing all comments, even FACTS and DIRECT QUOTES that shed a negative light on the series and could turn away prospective new viewers.
So why post on GayteWorld if you never know whether your comments will be erased at whims of a moderator gone out of control? Why bother at all if she may not like your opinion? Why waste the time and effort?

So true! I got that picture in my mind as soon as you described it. Gayteworld is now officially a CLUB. Its an SGU fanclub and the tenacious Gayteworld regulars are trying to adjust to the new tenants and are being met with resistance and censorship. I wonder just how long it will be until Gayteworld is forced to strip privileges from those mods? If Gayteworld no longer becomes the focus for "all things Stargate", it will sink beneath the waves with SGU.

I really don't understand that logic of how ratings don't mean anything............... when quite clearly they do - they are not subjective, they are the best possible way to gauge a show's popularity. I'm sure if the shoe was on the other foot & SGU was getting superb ratings but getting panned by critics that ratings would be the only thing which mattered............ hypocrites.

Massive censorship
I couldn't get to this on Wednesday because we were having a helluva party over here, but now I think it is noteworthy.
An entire thread disappeared completely over at GayteWorld with its 10+ pages. It was one I was particularly enjoying... and GW obviously hating. Or at least deeming to be counter productive on the eve of the SGU premiere. The topic in question? SGA fans, what would make you continuously watch SGU?
What was so offensive about that thread? Well, people were expressing their honest opinions in a polite manner and a constructive and informative discussion was in progress. SGA fans were pointing the flaws in SGU, some were making suggestions on how to improve it, while others were unmistakeably stating that they would not become fans of SGU no matter what. - All of which is of course completely unacceptable to the desperate producers of the show, and consequently also for their bitc... er... partner GayteWorld.
Maybe it was just moved elsewhere, or renamed or whatever. If that's the case, please let me know. Otherwise I will post some hilites of pages 9 & 10 of the thread I screen capped over here, so that our lurkers and GW fans can have yet another illustration of how that so-called "fan site" treats SG fans and why it is going down.
Oh, and before I forget, on the same forum the thread Why do people have so much hate for season 5 (of SGA)? is alive and doing very well as it heads into page 11! GayteWorld sees nothing offensive in that thread since it does not affect their perks and frills with BW & JM and neither is a threat to SGU's image and ratings.

UPDATE: the thread has reappeared, now that the Season premiere of SGU has aired in the US and in Canada. The last 2 pages of the thread were deleted and this enigmatic message was posted to "explain" what happened:
I can't tell whether there were suspensions, or whether there was an internal conflict between the moderators, or what the hell went on over there. It seems at least nobody has dared to post on that thread over the last 2 days since the thread popped back up. Fear of punitive measures? Or fed up with having pages of comments deleted for no good reason? Who knows!
At any rate, I will post some of the deleted posts from page 10 (I don't have page 11) here as promised.
