Usually when I read the books I end up hating the TV show and/or movie. Maybe that's why I don't read as much anymore.

Sounds like the opposite, either that or he is just trying to be nice and vague so as not to give anything away.

Usually all of the deep detail is in the books. I'm OK with the Cliff Notes version on this one - it's been pretty entertaining so far.

I think they're just using the books as the source material and just translating it into tv scripts accommodating for budget and other tv related stuff. Or I might be wrong.

My favorite character so far has been Tyrion, with a soft spot for Arya.

I feel bad for Tyrion, because he always seems to be left holding the fuzzy end of the lollipop. He can't ever seem to get a break.

Yeah, he may be on the other side, but he was always one of 'good' guys in the end. And he does something that is awesome later on in the books.

I've been reading them on my Kindle, but stopped when the books went from $8.99 to $14.99 to buy a freaking E-BOOK.

I hope that kind of avarice on the publisher's part bites them in the asp.

I have a terrible habit of wanting to own any book that I read. Thus, libraries and I don't tend to play well together.

Buy it used elsewhere unless you're looking specifically for the kindle versions. Then you're just going to have to suck it up because they have a monopoly on that. It seems to be the new trend among the bookstores, make a reader specific to their store and force customers to buy only their products.
