JF definitely said that his kids thought SGU was boring and that he didn't watch it. Cliff Simon who played Ba'al also said he didn't think SGU was that great.... there were links to the videos on the old forums, I'm sure a bit of googling would unearth them. Didn't hear about David Blue's tweets but I can't say it would surprise me.

Unfortunatley i have to agree. Maybe its just bias on my part, but these sgu actors just dont seem anywhere near as fan savvy as the other actors or as proffesional in there opinions for public consumption.

The Cliff Simon video is in a convention thread on this forum.

I don't really follow actors and what they say since it's largely irrelevant to my enjoyment of a show- and sometimes detracts from it- but whatever happened to the old rule of "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all."? Truly, it's not hard to say "We're trying a new direction with SGU, and I really hope all Stargate fans will give us a try, even though SGU is a bit different." End of story. I just don't understand the need for the actors to make comments like this at all. No one really expects them to know much about the thought processes that go into the show, or what went on with previous shows or the franchise in general. It's very easy for an actor to not get into those kinds of issues, and I really don't understand why they insist on climbing into this when it's really not their boat to row.

Perhaps they have an axe to grind and the only way to be heard is in a public arena. Kindva like us. Tptb from all appearances treated the SGA actors badly. His current interview is full of sugery tales about the current cast superior acting abilities yet the majority of the built-in fanbase thinks they are the worst actors.

David Blue's interview?
And why would he have an axe to grind?

I agree. All you need to say is "guys I don't know what went down, it happened before I was cast and since then I've been concentrating on making ______ the best character I've ever done and I think it will be great, can we talk about my show now?" or something like that and then no one can have any beef with you. It's natural that you want to defend your show but a lot of the ways they've been going about it suck.

Agreed .. to a degree regarding "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all" .. because of all the opression in the world today. But yeah it does apply to the case of actors versus fandom.

But maybe we can fully agree that David Blue made an "Idiot Comment" ?

Right. It's not that hard to be civil about it, if one is an actor one isn't going to be involved in the behind-the-scenes stuff unless they're an EP which Blue is not.

Now I have no problem with Joe F. telling it like it is. He's been wronged and evidently has nothing to gain by continuing the facade. But Blue (and the other SGU actors who've dissed the previous shows in some way) really just need to pipe down. They're only hurting themselves and the show. I understand their feelings are hurt, but their actions run completely counter to their best interests and that of the show.

here's the next pic in his que:

I see menus in the background. Hmm, eating again it looks like. Maybe you-know-who in the pic can give him a tip or two about how to throw up after a hearty nosh.
:puke:

(Cheap shot I know. To be honest (and based soley on his face pic) he doesn't look anywhere near as portly as he did at the start of season 2 of SGU. Good for him! :beckettu:)

He looks cool in that pic. Not like Eli. Cute babe he has with him! Is that Elyse Levesque? Looks sorta like her....

But an unemployed actor's lot is not a happy one.

I'm guessing trade packs of Oreos will be on order already.

I really do need to start looking stuff up more. I'm with SexyDexy, I don't usually start fishing for info till I don't like something. Heck, I did not even have a SyFy (Formerly known as Sci-Fi) forums account till I felt the need to express my disgust with SGU. I mean I've not liked other stuff, and not said anything about it. But they were messing with my Stargate man! I had to say something about that.

Just a post or two ago, I was saying how he was probably one of the best characters in the show. Now I read some more and find out he's "running the fans down"...like WTFH dude? I've seriously got to say. That sort of attitude is not going to get you any support from the fans. In fact, now I want to retract my statement, that he was probably the best character on the show. There...Davey...see how that works?

A more appropriate example he could have used is when Coke tried to make the "New Wave Coke", and the consumers/"Fans" did not like it...does anyone remember that crap? I was very little. But it was a freaking riot! I remember that it was all over the news. The fans wanted their Coke back.

And, in my defense, I DID give the show a chance. I flat out "FORCED" myself to watch the crap, hoping that what everyone said was true, that it would get better.

But it just did not. I'm sorry to have to say this on you nice people forum board, but...I'm a little ticked off finding out the only character I supported on the show is talking bad about me....so...here goes...

SGU FREAKING SUCKS!
