David Hewlett and Ben Browder like the show? Seriously? David Blue needs to stop all his namedropping, it's getting ridiculous. Hewlett shouldn't give him the time of day. I'm a huge Hewlett fan but I'm starting to dislike him by association now.

I find it funny how they are saying the show is great despite the fact nobody watches it, you make something people like - you don't make something then convince people to like it.

There's an interview somewhere where he was asked about the show before he was hired for E15. He said he's never bothered with it and never seen it and was very dismissive. Now that he works for them that may change. Of course there won't be any more work will there?

I remember some of his tweets about the show after he was hired when he watched it for the first time. They didn't sound like he was enjoying it. I'd say they were rather snarky about the change in direction.

Both Browder & Hewlett have a long track of being really nice guys. I think it was out of common courtesy and actor camaraderie that they could have said something remotely positive about SGU and Little Boy Blue here turned it into them "liking the show".

David H has tweeted David B and has been vaguely positive about SGU since he signed on to appear in it. I don't think he likes burning bridges (so to speak, LOL) and has had some ongoing back and forths with DB. Although you never know what he really thinks, I read something online years ago from a person who knows him and he had less than positive things to say about TPTB. He can't afford to alienate the people who may be hiring him for his next project. And he has always been one of the producers and writers favorites, so I don't think he's going to be incredibly upset with them in public, they made him the de facto lead in SGA, for one thing.

Also, his sister, Kate, is attending a class or workshop with John Lenic, one of SGU's producers and has been tweeting her SGU fanishness quite a bit lately.

I will admit, I am not happy with David appearing on SGU and kind of feel betrayed by it because I am a big fan of his, but then again, I don't have to pay his bills.
ETA: E15 is Episode 15, Seizure, I believe, where David H and Robert Picardo will appear.

E15 - S2 episode 15 the one Hewlet and Picardo have been hired to appear in. The one TPTB figure will push them past 3.0 during May sweeps if it ever airs. I won't go out of my way to watch. And I don't memorize TV show title episodes either. Don't need that crap floating around my brain with Avogadro's Constant. I pretty well know the STOS titles by now though since the first aired.

I don't hold anything against these actors, Vancouver only has so much work and they'll grab anything they can get. Even Carlyle is on record saying he was looking for work.

BTW as I posted elsewhere, production filming ends Nov. 23. As of then I guess they up shit creek.

Ben is still trying to be included in the new SG1 movies. He didn't get that memo by BW that said they weren't really going to be shot.

Same here I will not watch this ep even if DH makes appearance in. I don't like this new spin off. In addition I think we will know about sgu renewal or cancellation before this ep 15 will be aired. So this will change nothing about sgu future.

Yeah in the last few years in the UK he's basically been in a couple of one off TV projects or indie films no one ever saw. IIRC he said he was tired of slogging his guts out for a few thousand £££s for projects that 5 people saw, which is why he did 24: Redeption and was looking to "pull a Hugh Laurie". I guess he was convinced to take Rush because they managed to convince him he'd be the next Baltar, that the show would have longevity because the franchise was 15 seasons old and a popular cult hit and since he'd be the absolute biggest star and he'd get a lot of creative input. And he'd still get paid a ton more than in the UK.

As for DH, he's never really said anything bad about anything connected to Stargate, I doubt he'd start now, especially as the main reason people are asking him about it now that he's guesting on it. But agreed, I've never gotten the vibe that he particularly cared about it. Shrug.

BB, who knows, maybe he does think its cool in some respects, thats fine, I don't really care. He's being his polite professional self, just as he always has been, I doubt he'd ever take potshots about it in public, and both he and DH seem like the kind of guys to be as nice as can be to fellow actors in an unfortunate situation. I have a hard time imagining him watching it regularly as a huge fan though, simply because it's sort of like "Farscape" but without most of what made Farscape completely and totally awesome. And BB is a large part of what made that awesome in writing and character development suggestions as well as acting choices. But stranger things have happened I guess.

I am just adding to this thread because of something I just read about David Blue. Evidently back when David Hewlett and Joe Flanigan did FedCon in Germany they made remarks about SGU. Joe said his sons didn't like it and found it boring. So later David Blue goes off on twitter about how some actors need to "get over themselves" and clarified that he wasn't talking about D Hewlett.

So he must have been talking about Joe F, so I officially despise David Blue. ::evil:

The fact that it happened was discussed online in a private group, but they provided no links. I do believe the accuracy of what they remembered, however.
