I'm finally caught up on this show. They didn't sell me on the everyone's in danger bit either. But that was a nasty looking parasite for sure. :P

Shades of stargate! will they steal from trek next?

that scene reminded me of the second episode of SG1- where they try to get the goa'uld out of Kawalsky only to be "fooled" by removing a dead husk! add this to the asgard theme music and they have obviously "borrowed" from SG1....when do we get a friendly alien with pointy ears? :P

Just watched last weeks ep and it was a snoozefest!

Oh boy taylor convinces the murder to join the sixers and spy for him...took a while to think of planting a spy in their midst didn't it? The whining teenage boy confesses all to daddy and wow everything is ok...no punishment! and what will happen to the identity thief...he really does have the scientific background but it appears he murdered his boss and took his place @ terra nova. do they lock him up somewhere or send him out to fend for himself? HOPEFULLY now taylor realizes who the spy is!
It's a heckle worthy show! :P
That idiotic mother "make me listen to you!" PAY attention to your kids you self-involved moron!!!!

oh well we need to come up with a tomato rating scale for this show....I give the last ep three tomatoes!

OMG, I've got to agree with you about the idiot mother in that last episode. I mean, she basically blamed her daughter for not forcing her to pay attention while the kid was trying to talk to her.

I actually don't hate the show as much as I should yet. Perhaps it's because I know they'll be canceled soon enough so therefore I don't feel the need to savage the show compared to say The Walking Dead which is really sucking donkey balls this season but is doing well in the ratings (I think).

I'm mildly curious as to whether Terra Nova has been renewed and/or if they're still in production. I'd find it fascinating if the show continues after this season, more for the shocking fact that that would mean it was getting enough ratings to continue.

TVByTheNumbers still has this show listed as "On The Bubble" but I think the Cancellation Bear is glancing over...

Off the top of my head I'd figure that the production costs alone merit a higher rating than 6.4 to continue. They might be breaking even or making a little profit but I bet they expected a much higher draw. Location shooting, large cast, SFX, dinosaurs to feed = big expense to produce.

All depending what they already have "in the can" they will probably finish out in Spring of 2012 and then be done, possibly sooner.

If they fed those dinosaurs some of the children it would be a win-win for everyone.

"Bad Barney" is ready and waiting to proceed on this excellent script idea!

I just watched the Vs. episode. It wasn't that bad but I sensed that the big dragonfly was tech-enabled right away. ;)

Okay, anyone else see last night's ep, November 28th? (sorry I don't know the episode title) It was chock full of feel good-ism! Turns out the baby dinosaur that hatched from an egg a couple episodes back was being kept as a pet of sorts. And here I thought we had been spared the usual Spielberg cutesy cutesy crapola, sigh. There was a sickening "release the baby dino back into the wild where it's immediately accepted by a mama dino" replete with smiling little girl looking on, puke puke puke.

The rest of the story was so so. At least the action keeps moving instead of getting too bogged down in melodrama. I'm already tired of all the double crosses and spy crap, which we all know is far from over. Again sigh... And, if the show lasts long enough, I predict that the young soldier boy who's all hot on Sullivan's (Sheridan's???) daughter will turn out to be a Sixer spy. The unbelievable twists and shocking reveals are getting very tedious and this seems like a probable one to occur.

Remember my warning about Human-Dino shipping? It still can be coming....

Meanwhile Barney waits to be summoned to make tasty treats out of the unlikeable characters.

I suspect it will just be quietly dropped from the schedule in the near future. If they're still in production they might be able to write a series finale but if not I really don't see it going another season. And by "season" I mean a legitimate season of at least 20 episodes. 6 episodes do not a season make no matter how they try to spin it these days.

I saw it last night. Mira and Taylor had to work together, the "spy" was a lame reveal, and there were dinos walking around on a golf course.

And I think Barney may have devoured Chaka off-screen.

Should I catch up on this show? I just downloaded the latest episode and I can hardly make it through the first 10 minutes. I am thinking I could do reviews with the new Xtranormal software I got. The premise doesnt grab me. I dont understand what it is supposed to be about. The premise about going back in time to the time of the dinosaurs INTENTIONALLY is lame and illogical to me.

Should I take the time to catch up?

It would be more worthwhile to catch up if they had Barney devour a cast member evey episode - but that is not what is happening.

I really think your time would be better spent watching Once Upon A Time or Homeland... I'm sure someone here will let you know if anything good happens on Terra Nova. :P

I cant get past step one. (from the Wikipedia site for the show)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terra_Nova_(TV_series)

The show begins in the year 2149, a time when all life on planet Earth is threatened with extinction due to dwindling worldwide air quality and overpopulation. It has become virtually impossible for humanity to survive, and almost no vegetation exists. At Hope Plaza, a massive ring shaped structure in Chicago, scientists discover a rift in space-time that allows people to travel 85 million years back in time to the late Cretaceous period of an alternate prehistoric Earth. The Shannon family (father Jim, his wife Elisabeth, and their three children Josh, Maddie, and Zoe) join the Tenth Pilgrimage of settlers to Terra Nova becoming part of the first human colony on the other side of the temporal doorway.[SUP][3][/SUP]

The Shannon Family starts a new life in Terra Nova while dealing with carnivorous dinosaurs and the Sixers, a splinter group of colonists from the Sixth Pilgrimage who are trying to transport all of Terra Nova's resources back to 2149.

Travel back to the Cretaceous, but the past timeline is separate from the current one and does not affect the future of the timeline they came from? Wouldnt that eliminate their existence altogether because their parents never existed? How could the earth become uninhabitable because of "poor air quality and overpopulation"? Sounds like it is made for the Prius/Global Warming/Vegan/Vanilla-scented candles crowd. And the scenes fro this last episode look so contrived. Worse than SGU? Probably!
