World of Warcraft

I have been thinking about learning to play World of Warcraft. I have never even looked at the game. I heard it was an online game that you can play with people from the globe with. The idea sounds fun to me. I have already asked a couple of memebers here what they know of it, but none of them were players of the game.

Does anybody here play? Can you tell me anything about it?

I've been playing WoW since it went live in 2004. I play Hordeside. My main character is a level 85 Goblin Mage on Quel'Dorei, a PvE realm. I've played PVP (player vs player) realms, but don't really care for them. I prefer to pick my battles. If you like PvP, Frostwolf is one such realm, however it's in the same battle group as mine, so we could queue up for random dungeons together.

That is great that you play!! I will have to create a character that can be in your realm.
I found a guide to it online, I have been reading up on it. So I won't be a complete twit. LOL.

Let me know your toon's name, class and level, and I'll look for you. Busy today, but will keep my eye out. FYI, goblins have great racial benefits, not the least of which are bargain basement vendor prices. Think of them as being like Ferengi that way. ;)

Sounds Cool.

Yes it will take me a bit to soak this all in. As soon as I have the info I will give it to you. I think I will probably do as suggested and make a couple of characters.

Right now, I'm hanging out at my daughter's office while she's working. Gawd, but I love my iPad for times like this. I've been doing a lot of writing today.

I don't think I've encountered a short piece of text that had so many things in it I didn't understand like that since before I learned how to read. :D

Well, I have been studying up all day off and on. I do understand everything she said. I believe my first character will be a Blood Elf Mage class. I am leaning towards the RPG normal realm. I just have to make sure that Illiterati can interact with me in that one.

Blood Elves are Hordeside, so yes, I can. :)My daughter has invited me out for a long walk today, so I'll be taking advantage of that family time. We're apparently going to walk to Little Tokyo here downtown. We recently bought some of those Vibram Five Fingers minimalist shoes and are both really enjoying them a lot. She'd given me a raft of crap for wanting a pair, but since she got hers, there's rarely a day that she isn't wearing hers. I like Arcane spec for Mages. They do seriously awesome damage.

I threw 10 pounds in gold bricks through a computer store window with a note saying, "Geek! Use this to buy yourself a life!"

Now, if you'll excuse me, my mommy is making me fried pork skin and taffy rolls while I watch Lost in Space reruns in the basement.

I found a free trial version, but it won't let me be a Blood Elf. I am thinking of trying it for free and then upgrading to get my Blood Elf with the expansion pack. I can start out as a Forsaken instead. If I like it enough I will buy the Battlechest and that will give me my Blood Elf. I am thinking I will be able to use the Forsaken as my Alt and the Blood Elf as my Main at that point.

The Battlechest will also give me the guides to both Wow and Burning Crusade as well as the games.

I am going to set up my name as Graybrew68, which is also my YIM name.
