What will SGU's writers/producers rip-off next?

I for one am thinking that they will very shortly discover that one of their crew members is in fact a cybernetic infiltrator but doesn't his/herself actually realise it.

Or, upon decoding the Destiny computer, they accidently activate the ship's AI/avatar called Holliviticus/Andromicus.

What other things could they rip-off from other (not necessarily science fiction) shows or movies?

Well I was talking about Holly from Red Dwarf or Rommie from Andromeda, The EMH Doctor hadn't even occured to me, although that's something they could rip-off for sure. It could be a holographic version of Chloe called the ESH Trollop (the Emergency Sexual Holographic Trollop!) Eli could finally score.

Considering the Twilight/True Blood/Vamp. Diaries thing, we are going to see aliens that do everything just like Vampires, but TPTB will INSIST they are NOT vampires, but aliens that they just made up.

TPTB: So we have a new aliens that consume human hemoglobin, are allergic to light waves between infrared and ultra violet, and sleep in alien hibernation capsules.

"Spandex wearing, Kevin Sorbo types wrestling the snot out of the weekly aliens on the ship's bridge, after which Captain Hercules orders sexy, alien crew-member to go bang them as to gain their secrets, after which they can blackmail them"... Yep, they seriously wanted to do this, and cancelled the show because the writer said 'WTF, you're not screwing with the integrity of the show'...

Joseph Mallozzi especially has a hankering for fame and prestige, si he is still going to try to capture what BSG was about, because he doesnt realize that fad came and went and wont work for him anymore. Its like everything he does is like...years behind the times.

To be fair, i think they only copied the premise of BSG and not the awesome.

Look at it. SGU lost the Icarus base, but just about everyone evacuated. How many casualties were there?

In BSG, 13 worlds of human life were annihilated. 50000 people were all that was left. There IS no comparison when it comes to that. BSG was much darker and didn't hold back with plot shields as much.

BSG had the shakey camera, but it always had a reason. They would linger on a shot of the maintenance department to show off that these people are working on the ship, they'd have press meetings with Roslin and the Quorum... The fact of it is, the shakey cam gave us the feeling of being there, not just someone on a shakey cam for the thrill of it like SGU does (YMMV on this one)

and finally, just about every episode of BSG contains action of a type. Whether it be a space battle, or gunfight, or even a brawl. it's visually appealing and hardly ever felt forced thanks to the great writing.

SGU has Life.
