THE MANDALORIAN live action series

the last person to have the dark sabre and who become the Mand'alor is Bo Katan. this was shown in REBELS

she will be in S2 played by Katee Sackhoff

so, between the last season of CLONE WARS- out with all eps on DISNEY+ now, and with her appearance in S2 of Mando, we should get a complete picture of what happened to Mandalore after Empire moved in on it, and how Moff Gideon played his part and got the dark sabre from her

Battlestar Galactica star and Star Wars veteran Katee Sackhoff is joining The Mandalorian season 2. We have exclusively learned that Sackhoff will be playing a live-action version of Bo-Katan Kryze, a Mandalorian warrior she previously voiced in Dave Filoni’s animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars and later Star Wars Rebels.

Although both Lucasfilm and Sackhoff’s reps declined to comment, we have confirmed this story with multiple sources. She filmed her role back in February before Hollywood production shut down due to the global coronavirus pandemic.

Now, if only DISNEY took over ST as well, we could finally get some good ST tv from them as they are doing with SW's :)

all of these successes with SW's on the small screen may just make SW's films, ep 7-9 a total aberration that should be forgotten as soon as possible for the abominations they are

NO NO NO NO! Even with The Mandalorian doing well, Disney just does not know how to do any science fiction like Star Trek or The Expanse or even The Orville. Nothing they have in their entire inventory is science fiction, going all the way back to The Black Hole till this very day.

none of SW's is sci fi

but the genre is not the point, the point is that across their library of films and shows, Disney knows how to do something right and whomever is in charge of the shit storm that is today's Trek, does not

Disney does things right? :) Are you aware that Disney has borrowed more than TWENTY BILLION DOLLARS since late March just to stay stable? The sequel trilogy was a disaster compared to the forecasts they wanted. The stock has been devalued twice in the same month. Definitely not Disney

and how is the Star Trek thing working out? not good-- I would LOVE to see some great "Actual" trek on TV. but, no

but as i already said, it is not about any one genre or film or show, it is their strategy overall-- they are flooding the market with remakes, reboots and continuations in all of their properties-- like making live action films from their cartoon classic

their business plan seems to be working or else no one would have loaned them 20 billion

but this thread is about the Mandalorian show

and look how disney/lucas arts have advanced the SW's brand just on the TV shows

all you need to do is look at these casting announcements for S2 and all the anticipation over the characters because all fans recognize who they are and what they did in previous shows like CW's (which has a new season on now-- have you watched it?) and REBELS

i'd say from a fan viewpoint, the shows are far more well received and successful than their disastrous EPS 7-9

My biggest worry about The Mandalorian is Kennedy inserting herself into the production and infusing the show with her SJW crap. So far she has been kept away but with the higher profile she may not be able to resist.

Timothy Olyphant cast for S2 of MANDO in a yet unnannouced role

hmmm, we know that Ahsoka is in it, and we last saw her with Sabine Wren setting out to search for Ezra who was last seen with Thrawn

could it be? a live action Thrawn? its 5 yrs into Ahsoka and Sabine's quest, did they find them?

one thing, Olyphant has the look and the skill to pull off being ADM Thrawn

I would LOVE to see a live-action Thrawn. I would like to see his trilogy on film!

Alas his trilogy is incompatible with the sequel trilogy, so it would take a willingness by Lucasfilm to do a big retcon to make it happen.

the thrawn trilogy is not canon, but the Thrawn which is, the one seen in REBELS is canon and -so far as anyone knows, still alive in the story line. he's out there somewhere with Ezra Bridger and whatever troops he still had on his star destroyer when it was taken into hyperspace

with season 2 already filmed, wonder how long till some leaked footage hits YT?

its great the way they got all of these well known actors onto sets for s2 without anyone getting real and confirmed info before the official release oft he castings

Boba Fett appearing is a problem because in canon, someone else has his armor

with Fett, if he is too appear in real time , then he did escape the sarlacc, however, it is already in canon that his armor has been taken by a Tatooine drifter named Cobb Vanth who got Fetts armor from the Jawas

with the announcement of Temuera Morrison, being in S2, it may be that he will appear as CPT Rex, in real time, travelling with Ahsoka and sabine (?) on their search for Ezra and that any Boba appearances may be in flashback

in the timeline at the time of Mandalorian..and in canon Fett is dead and Rex is alive

S2 trailer to drop this week .... maybe

SW's celebration was cancelled and it was planned to release trailer then.

trailer finally dropped

looks like a good chance we will have Sabine Wren alongside Ahsoka Tano and probably Rex

Character in hood at :49 looks like it could be SABINE spying on Mando and the Kid. and the actress who is confirmed as being this character seen is Sasha Banks. Some WWE wrestler, from her pics she certainly has the body build and the face of a live action Sabine

supposedly somewhere on her twitter feed, she has confirmed her role as Sabine

Other have theorized that it is some Sith character from some comic, but that doesn't make a lot of sense to drop some unk character into a show with so many known characters already in it

i swear this guy knows nothing about SW's

yeah, he put in the comments he was wrong, but only after someone said something

How can anyone think the female character (in above post) is Ahsoka? No face markings no montrals bulging under the hood? and it is NOT Rosario Dawson

tool

The Mandalorian trailer looked decent. My sole concern is bringing in all these characters may indicate they are making the story more epic - which they need to avoid doing as the small story was a key element in why it succeeded.

As to the video, Gary did make the mistake about the actress and also owned up to it - it happens. And he is correct about Star Wars fans not being thrilled about the idea that Ashoka was around during the OT because it makes Yoda's clear statement to Luke that he is the last of the Jedi problematic. Maybe The Mandalorian can take the opportunity to correct this canon issue somehow. I do think Gary overdid the schtick on Cara Dune a bit - I like her character but it is not her show.
