I think he ripped-off an old sci-fi movie from the fifties where if you wanted to send a new satellite up into orbit you had to go bring down one that expired.

Now if they had a 500 foot long bulldozer blade they could knock down a whole lot of crap into the Pacific.

But then who's gonna clean up the pacific?

It shud burn up actually before it would hit the Pacific
;)

Can you imagine if all that crap doesn't burn up as expected? Just think what would happen if a huge vacuum cleaner shot all that stuff at a Filipino ferry carrying say a 1,000 people. Cling, cling, bang. I wonder if someone would head for a lawyer?

This guy might.

They are just going to be dumping this shit elsewhere or probably back into the ocean to give you the illusion that they are cleaning it up. How does one make money from this? NO way someone is doing this shit for free. Oh they hired interns...stupid people. They are getting exploited. Plastic has become worthless to recycle. China has stopped taking it because it's not making anymore money from recyling it, so where are they going to recycle this? This just looks like another attempt to make a current problem worse.

I think that guy and his team are doing great work. I don't think he's out for profit. I did read somewhere recently about some new development, I can't really recall, but I think it had something to do with plants recycling plastic.

It's for a good cause.

YES, it is. When NASA was faced with the issues SpaceX is facing now, they held on to all the useless people who were support personnel hired to help with setting up infrastructure. That bloated NASA to humongous proportions and continues to drain the government of precious tax dollars.
