does she still have access to the database?

wait why would the Borg have that knowledge in the first place? even if they assimilated a human with that knowledge it would surely be judged as unneeded to the Collective being such old tech.
Why would she need access to the database. She retained plenty of knowledge from when she was Borg after she was freed from the collective. It's kind of the whole plot surrounding her character.

Why would the Borg not have the knowledge. They have shown themselves to be highly adaptable both technologically and strategically. Humans have been a thorn in the Borg collective eyeballs. It would make sense they would study their enemy in detail. They travelled back to earth in the past as well to prevent first contact from happening.

I'm surprised no one has commented on the seemingly inefficient design of the new Borg vessel.

Episode 5. It's getting better and better. Looking forward to the next episodes more and more. Shame these seasons are so short.

what's your guess? Borg Queen in EP 1 - Masked Queen- is Jurati?

this whole thing is her playing into what she knew (somehow) to be a "Q event" for Picard and the gang to go back and fix?

BTW Guinan in this is outright idiotic. The actress playing her is terrible and the character is nothing like Guinan. Plus there is a BIG plot issue here - did the showrunners watch TNG? Namely the major two part episode Time's Arrow? STP is directly contradicting that episode. So add Guinan to the list of characters in STP who are completely off from their TNG/VOY/DS9 selves.

And....maybe the problem is no one in the writers room is a Trek fan? No one has even watched TNG or VOY (this should have been REQUIRED given the subject matter of the show)? It would help explain why these characters feel like impostors rather than the characters themselves.

thought the same. st groups on fb are full of "explanatories"

none worth my time in depth other than the gist of= this Guinan is,obv, a much younger one who travelled further ahead in time at a later date in earth's past

the TimesArrow one is the older one travelling back to an earlier Earth time

or something... :)

not agreeing with them-- just that's what "they" say

=============
me? i think they are putting too much of the minor players/plots from TNG and even TOS into this story

why? probably IRL reasons like actor availability, conflicts, copyrights ,etc

I mean, where's Worf? Where's Geordi? Or even Chakotay? not even a mention of him and he was married to 7, right?

I figured the NuTrek apologists would contort themselves trying to work around obvious bad writing. There is zero evidence anywhere in Trek canon that Guinan was a time traveler. Guinan should have instantly recognized Picard. But then this "Guinan" is nothing like the real article - she just shares the name. And your other examples are also on point.

How about them not knowing why Ten Forward was called Ten Forward? That was laughable literally - it was named that because it was located on the Enterprise E on Deck 10 - Forward. This was specifically explained in more than one TNG episode, one of which even had Q in it (the one where his powers were removed).

I think my theory that none of the writers ever watched TNG or Voyager is looking more likely.

two things

if you would, refresh my memory, how did Guinan get to where she was in Time'sArrow? was it that she is just long lived and she just happened to be on Earth at the time by 'normal' space faring means?

which always leads me to why was she on that refugee ship in the movie where Kirk was killed? I am sure i know, just do not remember

and

with Q--

and the Borg

going way back to the first use of the Borg in TNG their appearance was brought on by Q's actions, right?

their existence was never truly explained

"The Q continuum" seems to have a less than neutral to care less attitude to Galactic life forms-- did they create the Borg to use as a plaything?

i just ask as this is something that could have always been the answer as I said their first exposure- recorded- to Starfleet was because of Q

either way, seems Q is defi using them now

Guinan was simply visiting Earth. She later went back home which is how she was on the refugee ship in Generations. Her timeline is linear.

As to the Borg, yes indeed Q was responsible for bringing humanity into contact with the Borg. Pretty cool episode actually as it was also the first time we see Q meet Guinan. I do not think canon ever had the Q create the Borg.

Yeah, I definitely got the impression before that Jurati would become the Borg queen. As for the second part, I don't have any thoughts.

no it doesn't canon has nothing on their origin, thats my point

with TPTB's for better or worse, having jumped the story line so far into the future-- STRANGE NEW WORLDS aside-- with STD, I can see them wrapping up some old story lines that fans have been asking for closure on, like where did the Borg come from; were they made or did they evolve

but then.. as she ALWAYS BEEN the Borg Queen?
probably not, but it would fit into the "always lonely in every timeline" bit

It could very well be. It's not unthinkable that what we just saw was the creation of the Borg queen, which is of course a wonderful paradox. The end of the season could have some kind of event (or a series of events) resulting in Picard and co ending back up in their own time with the timeline restored, and Jurati somehow ending up in the delta quadrant but still in the period they are currently in on earth. From there she begins to expand her capabilities by acquiring others and thus the Borg empire is born.

Could Q be suffering from some kind of split personality disorder?

I have been wondering if when Q told Soong "i have something I need you to for me" it was more than just stop Renee?

like maybe:

create the Borg nanites-- as in take them from Jurati as she may have no way of distributing them as she has no Borg hardware in her? In his Q way he knows that she has always been the Borg Queen, so.. this is his ask of Soong, him being a geneticist/ mad scientist and all

to fit the timeline of the Borg having existed in Delta quadrant species databases for so long, Q could have easily snapped an adapted Jurati- Queen back in time and space appropriately, to fit that description he gave of the Borg in Q Who? A description, we know see, he has made to his order?

of course, Trek purists would cry all kinds of foul above and beyond what they already have! :)

How does the Soong line continue if Soong has no children of his own? Well it appears he has none at least
I was wondering about the name Adam Soong. Was there ever an Adam Soong before on Star Trek? Could it be that he changed Adam to Noonian, or that it was already his second name?

Memory Alpha mentions that there was an Arik Soong in the 22nd century who was a criminal geneticist, and that Noonian Soong was a descendant from him.
