I've downloaded a trial version of MODO202.
Problem is now it asks me for a license key.
The program directs me to the luxology website where I find instructions on how to obtain a trial license key on that same website.
Unfortunately when I get to the part of the site where I should obtain said key I find out that that part doesn't exist anymore.
Anyone got a working license key I could use?

If they do, its not allowed to post them here...sorry. I cant control what gets PMed to you, but posting serials/keys/licenses/keygens/cracks/instructions of how to crack/hack is not allowed on the forums.
Having said that, have you checked the torrents? You could find what you are looking for using Google. If you are a serious investigator on the net, use a crawler. My favorite one is the Sekhol Finder, but the full version costs $39.00 and for me that is well worth it. I need to collect results quickly and this thing is FAST. You can do deep searches for exact matches and let the thing run for days. Then, you can search the results for more refined results. Its awesome!

I've never used a crawler. Sounds like a usefull application, though I doubt I would use it. I don't really look for a lot of things on the net. And when I do I often find what I need quick enough. This key is proving difficult to locate however, probably because it's an old version of the software. Now trying my luck with a newer version I just found (whilst I was looking for the old one). Man all those bogus download sites are really annoying.

How do you add the sound to the video? Is that a function of the modelling/rendering software or do you use another tool for that?

What I meant was that it's short even for a teaser.
On the side, I just found out Houdini is waaaaay too heavy for my laptop to run it smoothly.
Gonna try that MODO thing next.

I'm honestly a little surprised you haven't been taking commissions specificaly for the purpose of getting a badass laptop to render faster

If I may add a small point of critique however I would note that in the 'ocean' shot the sound of the wind seems to be slightly over the top.

Everything ive shown in this thread is scratch built by me using screen caps and concepts as refference
and no not physicaly but digitaly/virtualy
using a 3D software. or in this case 2.
