THE BOOK OF BOBA FETT

they could have kept the exact same overall look just improved the texturing to account for 4K and such.
i agree, they could have, but again, i have seen some very accurate to TOS looking stuff for STRANGE NEW WORLDS updated with new methods but with same appearance and still get railed at by the purists

its a lose-lose - but again, they are minor things
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
from the reviews i have watched, haven't seen anyone comment on how they were able to use actual real world "droids" on set with SFX droids and other not real effects-- how much IRL tech has caught up to the 70's tech that started it all with little people in a robot suit

they used these, did you see them?

I normally stay out of Star Wars threads because I'm not "a real fan" and I'm not familiar with all the lore as others around here are, but, I just watched the first episode of this and I loved it. After that, Disney+ suggested "Under the Helmet: The Legacy of Boba Fett" to me, so I watched that as well. Really enjoyed that too. Then, after having watched that, Disney+ said "Because you watched Under the Helmet: The Legacy of Boba Fett" and it suggested that I should watch The Book of Boba Fett. Yeah, I'm not falling for that one Disney! Although there are worse things I could do with my time.

So it had you in a sort of loop.

As I posted upthread I was happy with Episode 1 of The Book of Boba Fett. Yeah some of the visuals were cheap looking but the story moved well and the acting was good.

I didn't really have a problem with the visuals. For me, the parkour scene was the thing that was most displeasing. It felt out of place and immersion breaking. When that scene started, all I could think was "o look, they're doing parkour now, to be hip". I suppose that's the director's fault really, as it might be possible to incorporate parkour elements in a way that doesn't break the immersion.

you have not watched any of the Mandalorian? Bad Batch? Clone Wars? Rebels?

its never too late to "repent" :)

Great thing about DISNEY+ is you could-- if extremely bored- watch everything -movies and shows, in time line order

so... get crack-a-lacking!

that is a Fennec thing

her character has done this before in Bad Batch and in Mandalorian

would be even more impressive if it is actually Ming- Na doing it all as she is nearly 60

Some people are whining-- HARD

i like the one guy with the silly hat on and the arcade games in the background: "this is not the Boba Fett we know" well, tell me.. who or what IS the Fett you know? Because prior to Mandalorian we had about 6 minutes of him on screen, not counting his time as a kid in the pre-quels and clone wars

sometimes i think YT'rs are just oppositional to try and get more views and likes; create a niche

I did watch The Mandalorian and I enjoyed it very much and am really looking forward to more of that. Boba Fett seems to be delivering on that for now.

It was not Ming-Na that was the problem for me. It was the other two dudes in the red suits. Ming-Na is nearly 60??? Wow!

You're probably right.

I just watched it and I enjoyed it. If someone watches it and doesn't like it, that's up to them. But if they go on YouTube and make videos about the fact they didn't like it and blah blah blah, o my god. By default they have some sort of agenda. Watch the bloody show (or not) and enjoy it (or not) you bloody moron! (that's that YouTuber I'm talking to, not you) I'm not going to bother wasting any of my time on people posting videos about things they dislike. It's one thing discussing such things with a friend or acquaintance, but another thing to proclaim them to the world and attempt to spread the propaganda. Saying this right now makes me think back on those days when we were a forum dedicated to hating on SGU or at least to being able to speak our minds about things we didn't like about it. In a way, I was doing the same thing as this YouTube guy is doing, as I was posting messages which were publicly visible and they contained my opinion about the show. Was I as much of a twat back then as this guy is now? I'd like to think not, but then, that is perhaps me arguing in my own favor. It can be argued that a video on YouTube is likely to reach a larger audience than a forum post, and be more impactful, but then it's still possible that nobody watches the video... If I was as bad as this guy is, I'd like to think that I've grown as a person. But maybe I'm being too concerned with my own perception of myself. Maybe I'm just thinking too much. I feel like I'm being more meta than usual. And I didn't even smoke any weed. It must be that damn bottle of Talisker!

Gotta remember WHY sgusucks came into being. It wasn't just to complain about SGU but because GateWorld was censoring any contrary views on SGU. Yeah we all hated it and it did get cancelled but the big reason we made our own place was GateWorld censoring contrary opinions.

Alas with the coming of YouTube we basically have channels now that are opinion pieces essentially. All well and good, and I oppose any efforts to censor out opinions. Some of the channels (like these two) do nothing but whinge and complain, and I have just cut them off in favor of those who not only criticize but also praise when they like something. For example, I no longer follow Nerdrotic at all because of the negativism.

Boba Fett so far is promising - obviously we have to see the rest to know but I'm happy so far. I find it funny people forget that prior to Mandalorian we had a grand total of about 8 minutes of exposure to Fett and none of it really defined his character at all. Even Mandalorian only had him for about an episode. So he is essentially a blank piece of paper. I LIKED seeing how he got out of the Sarlacc and I LIKED his takeover of Jabba's role and like what he is trying to do even if he fails.

and none of us were making nay money for posting on here vs YT vids

So he is essentially a blank piece of paper
he is nearly the blankest piece of paper in SW's

we know more about some of his individual "brothers", clones, and his sister, than we do of him

but, thinking of them, if we were to make a guess as to his true character based on what we know from them, then, maybe we do know him a bit

YJ02

Well Known GateFan
I LIKED seeing how he got out of the Sarlacc
i especially liked how, given the tools and rules of the SW's lore, his escape wasn't outlandish

just borrowed some O2 and hit his flame thrower--- a totally IRL fix,,, nothing fantastical about it

seeing how the director (or whoever was responsible) used real world "droids" (the boston dynamics "dogs") in the street shots i guess to showcase our real world tech (??) It wouldn't surprise me if TPTB's responsible were also parkour fans themselves and used 3 real world enthusiasts instead of pro stunt people

maybe even wrote that entire ambush scene just to have a reason to include their personal favorite extreme sport?

but again, they have used this before, defi for the Fennec character in BAD BATCH, a bit in the Mandalorian when she was running from the stormtroopers on Tython too, as she was jumping from rock to rock

one of her signature skills

YJ02

Any Guesses here: YT'r have it all three--

A few of Boba's brothers- like REX or maybe some surviving BAD BATCH members, or even his Sister may show up in the last episode

or none of them

I'd go with maybe Rex coming along with Din Djarin; maybe Omega -if she is alive she must have some interest if she knows about him, which being close to the process on Kamino, I am sure she does

Omega has a connection with Fennec as well

I would be surprised if there is a crossover with Mando already. Mando Season 3 would seem to be more about resolving the issue between Din Djarin and Bo Katan and possibly going from there to the Mandalorian homeward or colonies to rally their people - it will be interesting to see if Bo Katan does wind up as the Mandalore or if it will be Din Djarin.

very well could be true

however.. there have been no announcements on any S2 production and for now BOBA is a "limited series" only

in contrasts- the new Series ANDOR already has 12 episodes completed and ready to air--- DISNEY is not going to make it one season though, but a s1 and 2 --the cursed 6 ep season seems to be a "thing" among streamers! -- S3 production is scheduled to begin this yr although it will not air for some time

Ahsoka and Kenobi are also Limited Series

Kenobi will probably stay that way given the confines of the story, Ahsoka could go on since we don't know how her story ends or when

so, they may have made some interesting bits to try and get interest up and see if it justifies a S2
