Dark Matter follows the crew of a derelict spaceship who are awakened from stasis with no memories of who they are or how they got on board. Facing threats at every turn, they have to work together to survive a voyage charged with vengeance, betrayal and hidden secrets.

The series stars Melissa O'Neil (Broadway production of Les Miserables), Marc Bendavid (Bitten), Anthony Lemke (White House Down), Alex Mallari Jr. (Robocop) and Jodelle Ferland (Twilight) with Roger Cross (The Strain) and Zoie Palmer (Lost Girl). Stargate SG-1 and Atlantis' David Hewlett will appear in a four-episode arc, reuniting with this SG colleagues Mallozzi and Mullie. Here's the series trailer...

Or, should I say "picking up on where SGU left off"? I will watch a few episodes. It looks really lame to me. The casting is bubblegum and the ship is...familiar.

Except Pandorum turned out not to be bad (especially once the reveal occurs - and be sure not to watch some of the cut down versions). I don't have the same confidence in this.

Pandorum wasnt exactly horrible. Watchable, perhaps not re-watchable...but then again neither is Interstellar.

I don't think there truly is a "one season" show. The two-season guarantee seems to be the order of the day.

I quickly discovered that he was into Japanese women and food, as well as pugs.

My problem was caused by the fact that some people refer to their better half that they have not married as their partner.

When a show is promoted as a "limited series" and/or single season I take that to mean that the producers are hedging their bets in case the show tanks.

Don't get me wrong, I actually like the concept of having a story told in one season. The problem with most people is that they always want more and more and more and that usually leads to the original story becoming attenuated and lame. Learning to be satisfied with what one has isn't the worst thing in the world.

yes they do, but the BBC does not function under advertising, it is funded by a TV tax.

and it is a movie that can legitimately support a sequel-

the survivors on the new planet and you just know those pesky mutants found a way off the ship too...

not saying it would be great or a "have to" but it would be far more 'legit' a sequel then say "predators" or any other in the long line of the "aliens" family

or instead of .."where sgu left off" since this was a mallozi comic book, when did that comic come out? if in the right time, did they rip off their lame ending for SGU from their own comic? being DARK MATTER

But I want to like it! Its a new space based (hopefully its in space) ship borne sci fi show. More of want we have been wanting. Bet it totally screws that over and its just another teen angst fest with dirty, "DNA filled" () broom closets...

Anyone else bother to watch the premiere? Personally I found the story derivative and quite attenuated. I had the "secret" figured out right away. (And it's pretty easy to figure out the future twists that they are going to do with the characters.)

I'm sure there's a ton of stuff I could criticize this thing for but the truth is it didn't inspire enough interest on my part to even bother. Quite frankly I'm indifferent to whether or not I catch more of this show.
