And I have read fanfic with Shep/Ronon (Shex has it's own GW thread), Shep/Carter, Shep/Cameron Mitchell, Shep/Vala, Shep/Beckett, Shep/Zelenka, Shep/Lorne, Shep/Keller( :o )and even Shep/Woolsey. So yeah, he gets around!

I dare you to find a single character on SGU who is likeable or sexy enuf to ship this many ways, crazy as some of these pairings may seem, Shep has inspired many a ship war, fan fic and vid!

(and I've read stories with all the pairings mentioned above (i.e., Shep/Kolya, Shep/Cowan) but they were mostly unpleasant)

Hmmm Todd/John is a fun pairing, it works well since they constantly stare at each other--which can easily be misconstrued muhahahaha...plus the way Todd hisses Sheppard's name is suspicious xD. But realistically I'd have to say if they had anything close it would be Todd having a unrequited crush for John. After all, Todd's hive doesn't really have a queen and we don't know of his previous relationships like Sheppard's.

Indeed it is! It's time to get the Todd/John slashing popular again. If only they had more scenes together in SGA though. It's hard to make a music video of them when the same scenes are recycled over and over....which means creativity is a must. Haha, like that "I'll be your prisoner" vid I made of them, I used scenes of a wraith tackling Sheppard--slowed it down and made it look like Todd & John were going full throttle lmao

Really? I cant picture it. Shep is such a...guy. He doesnt seem in ANY way interested in other guys, even his character. I dont see him being a homophobe, but I cant see him with another guy in any other way than close buddies with no sex involved. But McKay? I could easily picture it.

Doesn't have to do with what we see really. Fanfic has the option of changing things like that while preserving the majority of the characters. John Sheppard isn't 'gay' in the series, but a slash fic might have him 'discover' he's gay in the story. Not sure about Todd/Shep since i never read it (or much slash in general) but i'm sure the dynamic they seemed to have has fans.

Personally i'm not a slasher at all, but i can see where it comes from with McShep especially. I often joke in my fics that if McKay were a woman, Shep wouldn't have stood a chance

Fanfiction.net has a shitload of SG-1 and SGA stories. It's criminal how there are a alot of good fics intermixed in the massive amounts of dreck there is there.

I've also found that fanfiction.net has more hetero ship than other fanfic sites. Where you can find the more esoteric stuff is Live Journal actually, but typically those are shorter.

fanfiction.net is hte biggest though by far. the only issue is you can't really have something 'dedicated' to your fic beyond a cheap little forum and community which doesn't do much. Ff.net is a bitch when it comes to formatting too.

I'm not really into slash, except for Ronon/John. Thats the only guy I could John with. Never ever saw the whole McShep thing. I think McKay is the last person John would be interested in, he's just not his type.

Todd/John are great as a love/hate relationship but not in a slashy way. I love their interaction and how Todd seems to enjoy teasing John.

I think there are supporters for just about every ship out there but some authors just churn out zillions of fics on their fav pairings so to me it doesn't really guage poplularity. You just have to look at some of the ship threads and some of the so called big ships are kept going by about 5 people.

I guess I could picture the Ronon/John thing, but still not as a full on relationship. Perhaps a drunken moment? They are best friends in real life so there is definitely real chemistry there but I see it more like just very close friends. Like brothers, not lovers. But perhaps in a very VERY drunken moment, swords cross? I dunno...these slash threads are trippy for me!

Over the past years, I have observed a huge following for the McShep slash, there is a massive amount of fanfic for the pairing, and the actors have even gotten in on it at recent cons.
Personally I see so many moments where I can slash Shep and McKay, they are like Hope and Crosby together but with benefits!
John/Ronon is great too - I can see the friendship evolving into something more.
I find it interesting that some people see John just oozing unrequited love for McKay on screen (see that scene in Tracker at the beginning where Shep questions Rodney about going with Keller) and others can't at all. SGA sure led to a lot of people being able to imagine any ship they want. That's proably good, because when they tried it for real on screen (McKeller,blech) it went horribly, horribly wrong.
I guess I can see Shep with most of the people mentioned and if I remember correctly I would have been a Sheyla shipper if I had to pick a het ship. (I can see John with anyone but Jennifer, to tell you the truth).

It went horribly wrong because nobody saw that one coming from 50 miles away. I expected it would be Ronon/Keller if anyone because of their chemistry in Quarantine, but I guess... Then there was the added kicker of McKay being the avatar that TPTB could persue their crush on Jewel - I mean Keller - No I really mean Jewel... It could have been Keller...

Anyhoo, back on topic before Pebble comes after me...

Todd/Shep was interesting to watch for me. They had a good dynamic going since Common Ground as sometimes allies/sometimes enemies. I think that's why people find the 2 of them interesting together.

Good question! Im trying to picture them both completely wasted on alcohol, then perhaps falling half asleep and each one of them imagining they are with a woman? I dunno...hard to speculate. Im thinking along the line of Heath Ledher's character in Brokeback Mountain. He was straight, but had gay feelings for only ONE guy and that was Jake Gyllenhaal's character. I couldnt see anything like that for Shep and Ronon or Shep and ANY other guy, but a drunken encounter? Maybe.
