COME ON, man! You are just being silly now. Do you assume nobody here has watched the show? We LITERALLY reviewed and rated every single episode. There were no military roles on Destiny, only parts filled by military personnel because that was who went through the gate. Lt. Tits had no role except to bounce and to pick out Chloe's smallest blouse to wear to enhance her chest. Oh, and to use her back to scrub the walls of the broom closets where she gets banged by every guy on the ship (except Eli).

She was responsible for luring the fat kid out into ten-forward because they needed some inside information from him. She was also responsible for restraining those guys from that planet with the power needed to open a stargate to destiny for supplies. She played supporting roles with limited dialog but they made the most of her dialog! Yes she also had really big boobs but she was way more than just a pair of boobs!

When I deride Lt. James it isn't to simply crack a joke about her breasts. I'm trying to point out how incredibly bad the showrunning was on SGU. It was as if a group of horny teenage boys had come up with the character of "Lt. Tits", not a gaggle of middle-aged men who had been professionally writing for years. There was nothing funny or clever about the meme they had created; it was low-brow and frankly insulting to women in general. The writers actually were sincere about Lt. James being a big-titted vixen, that was literally her purpose, period.

Now this wouldn't be a big deal had it not been done by established Stargate writers. They knew better because they had written strong, intelligent female characters before. To suddenly shift gears and give Stargate fans a broom closet slut as a character we're supposed to take seriously was ridiculous on their part. What the hell were they thinking?

Stargate protagonists are heroes we can root for. They aren't cringing little balls of anxiety or club-hopping sloots or low self-esteem med techs that pine after their alcoholic commanding officers. Brad Wright, Rob Cooper and Joe Mallozzi knew this but they didn't care and arrogantly tried to shove this "darker" and "edgier" crap down the fan's throats. It didn't work for the exact reasons I just laid out.

No he doesn't "just hate the show". He and others have already made hundreds of comments explaining exactly WHY the show was bad. Most of us are/were Stargate fans who loved all the Stargate shows/movies until SGU came along. Lt Benson had no real role, and that is the part where you are being silly. What role did she have outside of being a walking boob rack? They could literally have replaced her role with a mannequin on wheels with big boobs placed randomly in the background scenes. I can even remember the dumb role Chloe had, and also TJ and Wray. All I remember about Lt James was this:

Jass is gone. I just attempted a rewatch of STD starting on episode 4, and I couldn't make it! This show is unbearable to watch if you are a Star Trek fan. NOTHING in the show is done right. Not the music, the storylines, the relationships of aliens to Starfleet and the Federation, nothing. It occurred to me how many differeent types of aliens we see on the bridge, and we do not know anything about where they are from or what races they are, or even their names! It wouldn't be much different than those generic technicians we see on the bridge in TNG and Voyager and DS9's Ops center if these aliens were in front of panels. But they are at specific stations facing front.

And then there are those dumb Dutch angles. Ugh. Maybe when it is canceled at the end of this next season, I might be able to choke it down.

Why would they do this at this time? I am wondering if Season 2 is being designed to end, because that would make sense. This is supposed to be a prequel, right? If it is supposed to be in the prime timeline, we already know there is no Michael Burnham in it or mention of Discovery. So, that means they have to end it pretty soon anyway, as a requirement of preserving the established canon. Also, Pike is coming close to the time of "The Cage", and the masters of illusion, the Talosians on Talos IV.

Its only speculation, but I think that by the end of Season 2 airing on CBS All Access, the first season of the new Picard show should be ready. I think a Season 3 of Discovery is not even a possibility.

One can only wonder as the entirety of this show has been bizarre to say the least. Maybe Klutzman convinced TPTB to give him an extension on his grandiosely bad idea for Trek? He's made it this far in the demolition of the franchise and no one has tried to stop him yet so it wouldn't surprise me if momentum keeps him rolling on.
