Star Trek Discovery SUCKS.

I don't have strong feelings one way or the other in some respects....but I am tired of reading all the freakin subtitles. Give it a rest and find a way for them to be speaking Klingon but sound like English or next time I will have to make sure I am not so tired when I watch it, which I should be able to be, I should not have to make sure I am mentally alert just to watch a damn tv show. It kinda felt like a bit too much work for a Sci Fi fun show. That is my main grief and oh.....why after all that did they not just bring some kind of a tagger they could shoot on the head Klingon bad guy and take his ass prisoner like they said they wanted to do? And why if someone was going to go over to get the guy would it be the Captain and First Officer? Don't they have a security officer that could lead that mission? And why would the third in command be such a wimp? "I was bred to sense death"? Fuck that, I choose to have a more qualified Lt Commander than you Buddy. If you are in any command position, you gotta have some gonads. Still, I will keep watching and see where they go with this.

Look I was willing to give it a go but I think the show is trying too hard to be way different. Also, the guy behind it ie Alex kurtzman is the same guy who directed the awful mummy reboot and we know how bad that was even though it did well at the box office.

Actually, it bombed at the US box office. But nobody seems to be seeing that the so-called "Kelvinverse" and the "JJ Abramsverse" is actually the Kurtzmanverse, since he is the one who created it.

YES. And if you remember the TNG episode "Reunification Part 2", Spock himself says that he never melded with his father, and Picard allowed him to share the meld after Sarek died. But, he did a super magical mind meld with a secret "ward" from earth and mentored her through school? Spock is alive and flying around on the 1701 under Captain Pike in Discovery's timeline. How are they gonna deal with that one?

Then years later with her in the brig of the Shenzhou, he reaches out to her with his mind (excuse me while I laugh it all out). He explains how that original meld allows him to reach her across space (Im laughing so hard right now), and appears to her. She asks him "how is this possible"? I was asking the same damned thing! It's along the lines of magic tribble blood and portable transporters which can get from earth to Quo'nos. Typical Kurtzman stuff.

Get this...Sarek says to her that she has part of his Katra inside her. So, is "Katra" really a euphemism? So lets talk about this...was he her mentor or her lover? Seems to me like Kurtzman is making "black female with Vulcan male" a thing. First, Uhura and Spock banging in the turbolift, now this?

Well, they didn't bang, I was being silly...or was I? They were even smooching on the transporter pad. I imagine he banged her in semi-private places on the ship. Hey, do Federation starships have closets?

But this Michael chick...how is it that Spock, who is flying around on the 1701 under Captain Pike, would not be in contact with his sister? I bet you a tribble's ass that they gloss over this and never even mention Spock. While he is out there on a 5 year mission, his daddy is melding with Michael and sticking his Katra in her. Huh? This show is so blindingly asinine!

Oh-h-h- la la. I just loved the French sub-titles when those Klingons were trying to speak - distracting much? Like someone else said the technology seems out of place, as the ship seems to be too sophisticated for the time.

No screen viewer for a war ship, with all that 'aluminum glass', I remember having discussions about Vipers surviving nuclear blasts, which makes their command post kind of ridiculous.

Then we had that white Zombie trying to eat Michael's brains. I thought that was very impolite of him.

Anyways violence and more mayhem. That's what we all want to see.

But you know what? I don't even want it like that. It's literally that bad. That warp effect they are using, it's so awful you can never talk about the journey from one star to another with all that swirly frenetic movement going on outside through the windows.

I can't get over just how much they threw out. Like, everything. But they still think they need a Sarek and a Harry Mudd? Why? This show has nothing to do with Star Trek.

Speaking of which, you know that's a bad thing right? That's what made Lame of Thrones popular and I am sure that's what CBS is backing on.
CBS is definitely backing on capturing Star Wars Fans, NUBSG fans, and generally people who want to turn off their brains.

More people are going to watch this garbage because people still like explosions and Transformers style tv series. Once in a while it's okay, but a whole god damn series? No...

Seriously, though, the hateful nature and provocative nature is what's going to make discovery popular. These dickheads KNOW that Star Trek fans are very emotional creatures so inorder to create hype they write these clickbait articles to generate viewership and generating sales. I don't participate in them but I do notice a trend.
