Season six or miniseries?

with sgpoo rotting in the ground and gw censoring a discussion about a possible season 6 of sga or a miniseries- I thought there was an opening here.

Joe Flanigan tried to line up investors for an sga miniseries last year, but mgm put the kibosh to it. I am hoping JF takes advantage of sgpoo being gone to give it a second try. All of the bs about "maybe good news" From Bernice and Loretta is just that- BULLSHIT! C'mon JF, give us some good Stargate! :D

and btw, what possible reason does GW have for censoring sga season 6/miniseries speculation? i think they've moved way beyond ridiculous at this point... they might as well delete the whole sga forum. wtf?

I say mini series - with new PTB of course.

imo the actors have moved on to a ceratin extent, but they all apear to love the characters and the fans. so i can see them commiting themselves for a mini series, as it would allow them to continue with other projects.

a full 20 ep series would be too much of a switch back after so long.

A mini series would be most ideal and realistic since most of the actors have probably moved on. I think they could resolve either the Wraith or evil Asgard situation with a 4 part mini series. I also want Joe Mallozzi to have absolutely NOTHING to do with it. His Stargate Extinction script he's supposed wirtten is as good as toilet paper to me. Given the chance he'd probably kill off Shepherd some in stupid fashion because he's jealous of Joe Flanigan and have Keller give birth to twins fathered by McKay while Michael inexplicably still alive is running around the hospital and the rest of the team has to find him in time before he can steal the children to make a new super army. It would be horrible.

Rac80, with your magical powers of mind control, I know you can get us the SGA mini series we're longing for! I'm sure Joe Flanagan must have some idea of what's being said here at SGUSucks. This is, after all, the only place where Stargate truth actually gets out.

They're going to stifle talk of an SGA miniseries because they're all about getting SGU back on the air.

Hell, I think I'd even watch Survivor over an episode of SGU. And I DESPISE reality tv.

The Flan could make millions from a miniseries.

The Flan could open many doors with a successful Stargate series like Atlantis. He could become a MAJOR showrunner, like Amanda Tapping has become. :) If TRULY re-thought, the entire production could be streamlined, requiring a minimum of set building and expensive set space.

If I had my way, I'd have some new PTB do a season 6. Then, I'd have a miniseries end the show, followed by a movie. :D

Yep, SGA is great. :shepsalute::teylawave::beckwink::mckay::ronspark:

I personally think season 5 opened enough storylines for a season 6 AND 7 before going into wrap-up mode with a mini-series (I'm not counting McKeller into that!): the DV aliens, the rogue Asgard, bringing back Weir, realistic relationships (Sheppard & Teyla, Ronon & Kickbox-lady), more exploration of the city and the achievement of the ultimate prize goal - learning how to manufacture ZPMs. Just one season 6 would seem like a rushed attempt to bring everything to closure without developing that potential.

This is a fabulous idea. Wouldn't it be fantastic if Joe Flanagan wrapped up Atlantis with a crowd pleasing mini-series that led us into a brand new Stargate series? A real Stargate series this time.

Yes it would be great.
But all this talk about Flanigan making an Atlantis series is giving me a headache.
Perhaps we should contact Flanigan and just ask him about it.

Didn't he tell people at one of the cons last year that he had found overseas investors interested in an SGA project but was turned down by MGM? You'd have to find someone who participated in one of the "private" meet and greets to see if he said more than that. I guess MGM were still in the sandbox with Brad Wright and Co, but who knows now what the future holds? For the time being I think it's nice to hope he could do something again with the franchise, but chances are quite slim. :(
