One Night had scattered conflict (the focus wavered) and the result of each scene didn't necessarily make a difference. For example the guy getting a scorpion in the face didn't make a difference; he was angry and suspicious before, he was angry and suspicious after - no change. Also there was a really bad case of author convenience towards the end when Will takes his time mixing the medicine and waxing poetic about food while his girlfriend lies dying on the table, then after giving the shot to the bad guy, instead of at least *trying* to rush over to the girlfriend and give her the antidote, he just went to her to stroke her hair and angst over the situation while the bottle of antidote is a couple of feet away from him. That goes against his character, and against logic. They did that so he could present the extra syringe just in the nick of time.
That's why it seemed 'off'. I don't think it was a bad episode per se, just seemed a little unrevised.
And I agree with Sanctuary being a good show. I was thrilled they were picked up for another season. Oh, and Tesla is my favourite too (great character!)
