Who, Begbie or the guy who spilled the beer? And you couldn't take on Begbie, he's a ******* psycho! He'd just stab you to death and get it over with.

Yes I meant Begbie.
I would bend him over backwards and stuff his head up his ass.

Yep I've met people like begbie, stab you on the off chance. Still don't think RC is scary though, I think he over acts as if he's on stage.

Horses for courses I suppose.

I don't really think he overacts at all. At least not on the same level as the actors in B5. Now that was a show with tonnes of overacting.
And of course RC isn't scary in RL, but he can be scary depending on what role he plays. For example, when he played a cannibal he could be pretty scary, but he wasn't scary at all in The Full Monty, just hilarious. :D

I don't know man. There were scenes in The Full Monty that were pretty bloody scary. :)

Hamish Macbeth

What about his role as police officer Hamish Macbeth . That was deffinately a great show . TV John was my favorite character though but I did enjoy RC's performance as well . Shame the series ended .

Ive always liked him because he's played a lot of different characters, Hitler and the Bond villian being the two most different if at least only in appearance.
His performance in 28 weeks later wasn't that good, tho:

Yeah that's why I like him too. He's played a police officer, a zombie, a psycho, a male stripper, a cannibal, Hitler and they're all very different characters so you never really know what he's going to do next. I didn't really think it was something special about him in 28 Weeks Later either, I just think he took the part because he thought it would be fun to play a zombie. And Danny Boyle was producing so that may have had something to do with it since they worked together on Trainspotting.

Also, Peter Kelamis is great. :D I enjoy his stand up videos on youtube. He's a pretty damn funny guy.

Here is an article about RC's next project:
http://blogs.indiewire.com/theplayl...e_to_star_in_london_cop_thriller_dogs_of_law/

Screen Daily reports that rising star Luke Evans will appear alongside Robert Carlyle in “Dogs of Law,” an action-thriller set in London about an undercover cop (Evans) investigating a corrupt colleague (Carlyle). The script is from newcomers Matthew Cooke and Vincent Lund, and will be directed by TV veteran Declan O’Dwyer, who was behind the pilot for the cult British series “Being Human.” Producer Michael Ford is currently in talks with sales agents and financiers, calling the film “very international in its vision” and the $3.7 million project is heading for a summer shoot

Interesting how they describe his work in SGU:
It’s a fairly potent combination: Carlyle is obviously a superb actor, even if in recent years his work’s mostly involved the ignoble likes of “24: Redemption” and “Stargate Universe,”
