First I have heard of it as well. I will do a bit of research into this later.

Why does season 7 suck so much? Granted I've only watched two episodes but that's a third of the entire season! Hardly anyone laughs in the audience.

It wasn't filmed "live" by that point dude, so it's all canned laughter by then.
If you are not a huge fan of S7, you probably won't like 8 either

I had no idea. Things were just wackier back then. I mean I can see the appeal of the chick but it needs Rimmer, seems like there is going to be too much romancing. I guess I just have to watch the rest of it to see.
