Ratings II

I would find it hard to believe that any non SGU fans, that are SGA fans, would have liked last week or wanted anymore of it. I agree with whoever said it was because of the promos showing alot of action. That and , at least where I am at, it followed the season finale of Being Human.

#1. The North American version of "Being Human" sucks harder than a turbo charged Hoover Elite. The BBCA version is light years better by comparison. They never should have made the North American version as there was absolutely no need to do so. The graphics suck. The stories are weak and poorly written and most of the actors are horribly miscast (the guy they got playing the werewolf in particular -- if the inability to emote was a crime he would be in prison). Watch the BBCA version to see what damn good writing is all about. Trust me on this, trust me on this!

#2. Yes, some people were upset by last weeks episode, but those were the hardcore SGA fans. The casual viewer would have seen McKay and Woolsey and responded favorably (if they knew those characters). I do think that perhaps it was just a slow night for TV in general because a jump like that doesn't make sense any other way. It's not like a ton of Hewlitt/Picardo fans went out of their way to rally the troops to watch last nights episode, so I'd chalk it up mostly to there being a lack of competition. Seriously, there's nothing else on right now. I think SGU's big competition was one of those "Housewives of New Jersey/New York/Miami/Detroit/Bumfart Egypt" shows. I don't know anyone who watches that crap. So, SGU benefited by default.

Oh yeah, and "Being Human" hasn't seemed to help SGU in previous weeks so I'm not sure how that would have helped last night either.

Check out the numbers for last week and yesterday for Being Human:

Being Human (04/04)
- 1.442 million viewers

Being Human (04/11, season finale)
- 1.666 million viewers

Difference = 0.224 million

Now let's add that number of viewers to SGU from last week:

SGU: 0.823 million + 0.224 million

And the Result = 1.046 million  (accurate within the margin of error!)

So the uptick by SGU really was all the additional people who tuned in to see the season finale of BH!

I suggested it was some of the BH female heavy crowd sticking around to see Mike Dupod in his leather outfit, I wonder who prompted that thought.........

You just know some of the diehard SGU folks would dismiss that as "nonsense".

Like how dare someone suggest SGU can't get an uptick on its own without a 3rd party programme to assist them!

lol

Doesn't make sense to me based on the way previous weeks have gone but hey, the numbers don't lie. I guess you and GB are right. Who knew?

I would assume , only the squees, you can't deny the numbers. I am still a SGU fan too. But you can't argue the facts. Numbers are numbers.

Thank god, you have given me hope in the human race. **Hugs**

Cos I've witnessed a few that dismissed numbers entirely, at times; making up numbers to suit their cause, with shoddy, absolutely dreadful mathematical skills.

You guys know who I'm talking about, begins with a 'W' and end with a 'R'.

OK so if it was the Being Human finale effect bumping up the numbers then next week should see a drop off (maybe) as SGPOO has itself as a lead in and moves into BH's 9pm timeslot.

*crosses fingers*

I would agree, but who know anything anymore? Should be interesting to see.

Hey, my math demonstration wasn't meant to be taken seriously. I just thought it was funny how the numbers added up! :icon_lol:
Of course die-hard SGU fans will dismiss anything that sheds a negative light on their show, even logic itself if need be. But so would I dismiss my 'proof'. Who knows what role "Being Human" played on the SGU ratings. There were other factors as well.

I'm just hoping for a new franchise low ;)

Although these numbers are meaningless now it's still sad to see them go so low.

I'm guessing an SGU movie will be based on the DVD sales MGM has recorded so it sucks we won't get definitive numbers on them. As Stargate fan though I'll stay cautiously optimistic (meh, hopeful) about SG1, SGA and SGU until Brad Wright no longer works at MGM. Then it really is over.

There will be NO sgu movie based on any of their numbers- whether ratings or sales numbers since all of them suck! ;) keep hoping young one.....:)
