I would find it hard to believe that any non SGU fans, that are SGA fans, would have liked last week or wanted anymore of it. I agree with whoever said it was because of the promos showing alot of action. That and , at least where I am at, it followed the season finale of Being Human.
#1. The North American version of "Being Human" sucks harder than a turbo charged Hoover Elite. The BBCA version is light years better by comparison. They never should have made the North American version as there was absolutely no need to do so. The graphics suck. The stories are weak and poorly written and most of the actors are horribly miscast (the guy they got playing the werewolf in particular -- if the inability to emote was a crime he would be in prison). Watch the BBCA version to see what damn good writing is all about. Trust me on this, trust me on this!
#2. Yes, some people were upset by last weeks episode, but those were the hardcore SGA fans. The casual viewer would have seen McKay and Woolsey and responded favorably (if they knew those characters). I do think that perhaps it was just a slow night for TV in general because a jump like that doesn't make sense any other way. It's not like a ton of Hewlitt/Picardo fans went out of their way to rally the troops to watch last nights episode, so I'd chalk it up mostly to there being a lack of competition. Seriously, there's nothing else on right now. I think SGU's big competition was one of those "Housewives of New Jersey/New York/Miami/Detroit/Bumfart Egypt" shows. I don't know anyone who watches that crap. So, SGU benefited by default.
Oh yeah, and "Being Human" hasn't seemed to help SGU in previous weeks so I'm not sure how that would have helped last night either.
